This hotel is charming and well worth the cost. It is a restored old building with lots of charm. Hardwood floors, squeaky staircases, ornate moldings and other fine appointments. There is a an extra room available for conducting meetings with tables, chairs, plasma screens for a group of easily 15 people. Often times in the evening I found myself sitting in the lounge area watching the flat screen television and meeting and talking with other guests. The guest rooms are nicely decorated, each one unique or at least I think they are, as I have stayed in at least five of them as this is always my first choice when visiting the Oswego area. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Continental breakfast is provided most times at no extra cost. Guests are given free use of the washer and dryer and even the laundry detergent is provided. The outside of the hotel are meticulously maintained to the same standard as the inside of the hotel. Flower gardens, are attractive and very nice touch as one passes them from the off street parking area to the hotel entrance. Because it is located on a busy street it is possible to hear street traffic in the evenings sometimes and like every other hotel I have ever stayed, noisy guests passing in the hallways. I never found it to be a problem. I would recommend this hotel to my fellow business travelers anytime.

We stay in 200 hotel rooms a year. Our room in this hotel was the only room ever where we could not tolerate the noise. The walls are so thin that ever noise in the neighboring room sounded like it was in bed with us. Finally, at 1:00am, we asked for another room because the man snoring next door was non-stop in spite of our repeated banging on the wall.

Otherwise, the room was clean, new, and well appointed. The staff was helpful and quickly accommodated our 1:00am request. (We scampered down the hall in our PJs.)

Room Tip: Our noisy room was one of the new, queen-size rooms in the back of the building. Our quiet room was...

We cozied up in the King suite with jacuzzi tub for two nights and simply LOVED the atmosphere here. Tall ceilings, old-time staircase and hallways, wide framing accents on the doors and windows, modern paint and decor scheme, and a chandelier over the tub were some of the details we enjoyed.

There is a coffee, tea, and hot chocolate always available in the sitting room lobby area, and a little continental breakfast set up in the mornings (I was told breakfast is usually only on weekends, but since the hotel was full on the two weekdays we stayed, they set out the breakfast then too). We saw a few elegant side rooms for meetings/events on the ground floor.

Oswego is a small town anyway, but this hotel is a really central location and easy to get into and out of. Plenty of free on-site parking available.

The ladies we saw taking care of the guests were very friendly and accommodating, and made sure to let us know that someone lives there on site, so even though this is a small place, it was reassuring to know that you wouldn't be on your own if something strange happened.

We loved the charm of the king room, and thought that all the modern amenities in this historical space were a great value for the price.

Room Tip: The king room with Jacuzzi is upstairs on the corner of the hotel right next to a flowering tree, so...

A very nice, comfy hotel on the top of the hill in Oswego. The staff are family and friends and do everything to make you stay enjoyable. The rooms are nicely designed and decorated, with a firm bed, beautiful vanity/sink and thick moisture-absorbing towels. The hotel is just a couple blocks from downtown restaurants - the hotel staff had several great suggestions.

Looking forward to staying again in my next trip to Oswego. Thanks Beacon Hotel!

This great little hotel has a real family-run feel to it; everyone is responsible for everything and care is taken with all the details. Our room was small but nicely decorated, meticulously clean, with a comfortable bed, thick towels and a big flat screen TV. We were on the first floor facing a very busy street, but there was practically no street noise in the room. Although we had been told there was no breakfast served on weekdays, we were pleasantly surprised to find that staff had changed their minds. The breakfast was simple, packaged pastries, but there was also juice and great coffee. We were altogether pleased with our visit.

Room Tip: We only saw our room so don't know what the others are like.

This hotel is simply beautiful! Each room is decorated with a special touch. Comfy and cozy as if you were in your own bedroom at home. The staff is personal and friendly, they are there to help with whatever you need. No other hotel in the area compares. As an alumni of SUNY Oswego I have recommended to all of my classmates. Best Place in town to Stay by far!

The ownership of the beacon have done something right here. From the pristine finishes to the amazingly well-trained, kind, caring staff this hotel has it all. You simply can't go wrong here. We used the private room one evening for an event and we couldn't have asked for a better setting to make our guests feel comfortable.

Thank you, Beacon Hotel for an amazing visit!

Room Tip: All rooms are fantastic but the king room is amazing!
