I've loved the ritz for a long time. always had good diner food, friendly service, and at a fair price. what more could you ask for? exactly. more. now they have such variety! Wednesday they have Polish night. an iron city salad? Greek chicken over parmesean risotto? scratch made desserts? all excellent...and at a diner?

this is so much more than before.

Our daughter wanted to eat somewhere other than the dorm for breakfast. The school provided a list of local restaurants and the Ritz was chosen.
It's a very small, old style, local restaurant/diner with a lot of character and charm. We arrived around 10am on Sunday morning and the place was packed. We lucked out and got seated right away. They had specials (a taco breakfast that looked delicious among them) and basic diner type choices.
My daughter ordered the short stack of pancakes - 2 pancakes approximately 10" round! I had hash brown and scrambled eggs and hubby had a cheese omelet with veggies. Everything was fresh and delicious.
The best part? Even though the place as packed and the wait staff were running - they were attentive and smiling. No attitudes and no long faces!
It will be on list to return to.
PS - It's cash only - but they have an ATM in the place! :)

This is a great little diner. The food is simple and plentiful. Great value for the money. The locals love it, plenty of regulars, that's an endorsement right there.

Went for breakfast with friends on a Sunday morning around 11:00. We had to wait about 10 minutes because we had 6 in our party. Once seated, the waitress was very busy, but still very attentive to our needs. I ordered a simple ham and cheese omelet. It came with home fries and toast. The omelet was delicious. The ham was chopped up into very tiny pieces and I believe this gave the omelet a very yummy taste. The toast was perfect but the home fries were just OK, I left most of them. The Ritz has been a staple in Oswego for many, many years and I can see why it has lasted this long. It's just a diner, in an old fashion "diner" building and the décor was just alright. What made it nice was the good food, and our friends!

Let me keep it simple. Went there with wife daughter and review the basic food orders. The raisin bread french toast was BONE DRY! It was like they just painted on some egg batter very lightly and then over cooked it. The pancakes were dry, overcooked and tasteless. No matter how much butter or syrup we used the food just was not edible. One good thing was the toasted corn muffin. But that's it. Save this as a last resort. You are better off eating in a college dining hall.
