We were traveling to Rochester late at night an realized that we would not get there before 3am. We stopped in Owego and called Th HI Express for availabilities. We were 5 people.

The great guy who answered was very accommodating and made a reservation for 2 Fulls and 1 cot.

When we checked in, he let me know he could put us in a room with 2 Kings and a pull out sofa bed. Since my kids are 21, 19 and 17. We loved the idea of everyone having more space.

The room was huge and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was great and all the people working there were very helpful and most important, friendly.

I stay at this hotel and will likely stay there again on next trip to Owego. Positive aspects include: regular cable TV and not the awful "Lodge Net"; room had a large refrigerator (which was quiet), a stove, and a microwave, plus a sink; also liked the bright lighting in the bathroom. Bathroom size was okay. The breakfast was very adequate. Shortcomings included: minimal plates and silverware, not pots or pans, nothing to clean with in kitchen area; the bathroom was awkward with sink and door interfering. The towel bar on wall was in the way.

A wonderful hotel that should not be overlooked if you are planning to stay in the finger lakes area. They have have clean atmosphere, well kept rooms and some rooms with kitchens and a full breakfast. It also has a open porch in the back overlooking a stream. Very well priced for the location, the quality of the stay.

Most of the local hotels where already booked. It was a 45 minute drive to the hotel, but it was worth it. I'd rather have driven the distance than pay more money to stay in any of the cheaper low rated hotels that I've already experienced are gross. This holiday is lovely, the decor is pretty, rooms where very comfortable (I stayed here on 2 separate occasions), breakfast was nice with a pretty view of river. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: When booking (I used expedia) there were 2 choices for the double bed room, one said slept 4 the oth...

Stayed here one night with my daughter. We were in the area to visit Ithaca College (about 45 min away) and visited with my niece who attends Binghamton University (30 min away). It was a great location for both schools. Very surprised to see a full kitchen upon entering the room--complete with cooktop and microwave in addition to sink and good size fridge. Nice area out back with benches and landscaping to enjoy the river. Easy on/off route 17 and many conveniences near. Grocery & hardware stores across the street and a dollar store which came in handy when my daughter realized she forgot to pack her pajamas! Area is very pretty. The ride to Ithaca was very nice. Leaves were a bit past peek but still very nice. Only slight negative was the size of the bathroom--it was very small. Very small vanity top and situated behind the door that opened in. Not much of an issue for us but if you need a roomy bathroom I would suggest asking for one upon check in. Wifi worked great. Breakfast was the typical fare for HI express. Area is much quieter and less expensive than staying in Binghamton or Ithaca yet convenient to both locations.

Room Tip: Riverview rooms are a plus.

I really like this hotel it seemed quite new nice view of the river and it was very quiet as well. The furniture in the room was very comfortable the room I stayed In had a sofa and a desk. There was a little kitchenette with a fridge and a freezer. I liked the bathroom it was a walk-in shower instead of a tub.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the river

Okay, it’s a popular chain hotel, they’re all the same, this is New York State so it’s more expensive that other Holiday Inn Express locations, what else could I possibly say?

Well, it’s a pretty new facility, in excellent condition, with spacious, modern rooms, and a terrific location that lets you zip on and off the Southern Tier Expressway. I was really surprised at the size of our room: lots of space around the king-size bed, a small sofa, a big refrigerator (for a hotel room). Right across the parking lot from McDonalds, if you’re so inclined. Tiny fitness center with three machines (tread, step, bike) if you are otherwise inclined. You can watch the lovely Susquehanna River while you have breakfast. A clean, quiet comfortable place for an overnight stay, this is probably as good as HIE gets, all waiting for you in Owego.
