My roommate and I stayed at the Lodge looking for a quick escape from NYC. We are 2 young women (mid-20’s) and both lead very hectic lives in the NYC so we were looking for a quick weekend getaway. We hopped on a bus on Port Authority and were taken straight to Catskill Mountain Lodge. We were in heaven! The owners were very nice and even offered to drive us to the nearest hiking trail (1 mile away). We chose to stay local and hung out at Kindred Spirits all of Saturday and Sunday afternoon. We were able to work, talk, read, eat and read. Overall a very relaxing trip!

We booked this hotel without seeing it first. Upon arrival, we found the rooms to be dingy and we didn't feel comfortable staying in the motel part of the property. When we brought it up to the woman at the front desk, she changed our room to one in the hotel building. We became concerned when we heard her talking rudely about us to other guests. When confronted, both she and the owner became very defensive. We eventually decided not to stay at this hotel because we didn't feel they deserved our business.

I stayed at the lodge for more than 2 mos., while working in the area. I will be going back there when I work in this area, rooms were of good size, clean, and had the hottest showers of anyplace i've stayed at. Thats saying a lot considering there was 8 to 10 of us construction workers staying there at any given time from mid December to mid March. The owners, Al and Kathy were very friendly and tried to make us as comfortable as possible. I really enjoyed the nights Al and the guys played jazz, just very relaxing. Clean, friendly and good service throughout the lodge's staff.

Room Tip: I stayes in the room next to the road and had no issues with road noise so rooms must be well insulated

Thanks for taking time to write such a detailed description. Having stayed with us for an extended period of time, you're in a good position to help travelers know what to expect at The Lodge: clean, quiet rooms with plenty of heat and hot water in Winter run by friendly, hospitable staff and owners. Hope to see you again!

I stayed at the Lodge while on a weekend skying trip at the Hunter mountains along with my husband and a dog. The lodge is pet friendly, which is a HUGE plus! We were greeted by the owners who are really sweet and friendly people. They gave us so much advice about where to get skying gear and also useful tips about pet day care in case we need one. The cabin we stayed in was simple, but clean - kind of country style accommodation - with a small fridge and a a cooking counter and dishes. This was very convenient since we have to carry dog food and usually like to have some food and drinks with us.

The Lodge is great for all - families with children, dog owners, couples and or elderly. Its spacious and the surrounding environment is very pretty - there is a creek behind the lodge and a children playground.

Also, they have live music at the restaurant on the weekends - three men band - they play really nice jazz music. When we came for breakfast on Sunday morning there was a guitar player - also very peasant experience. Lastly, I would like to mention the food, which was surprisingly delicious (both dinner and breakfast). Highly recommend the eggs with toast (best toast you will taste!). I also loved the traditional style chicken curry - so good!
I would definitely recommend this place!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at The Lodge with everyone. We are always happy when our guests have a positive experience. Most guests who have a great time do not take the time to write about it. We are glad you did and hope to see you both - and your pet - again.

As soon as we got there, my friend and I felt so welcome by the owners Al and Kathy and their staff. The rooms, the lobby and the Kindred Spirits restaurant were clean and welcoming. Al and his jazz trios were great and set the mood. They really took care of everything. In a time when customer service is going down this place is a gem! Close to Hunter and Windham.

Thank you for appreciating what The Lodge is about. We are family owner and operated and we greet and get to know many of our guests. We work hard to ensure people feel at home, hence our motto, There's Someplace Like Home. Much of our business is comprised of repeat guests. Our goal is to have every guest come back.

We also make sure good food, drinks and entertainment are always on hand. And we are always grateful for guests who take the time to appreciate what we do, but also share their experience with others. Once again, Thank YOU!
