“Perfect Experience”
Reviewed 9 May 2013

My wife and I travelled to Palmyra to visit church sites and decied to stay at Liberty House. What a nice little place! This is our first time ever staying at a bed and breakfast and we were NOT disappointed. Irene and William took great care of us and the breakfast was one of (if not the best) we had ever had. We had a well-appointed room with private bath.
The accommodations were clean, inviting, and we had the place to ourselves!
We would stay there again when/if we get back to Palmyra. Completely satisifed customers.

We loved this little bed and breakfast. It was our first one that we have gone to and we are now hooked on bed and breakfasts. Our host was wonderful and the food was delicious. We stayed in the downstairs and loved every minute of it. Can't say we had any issues with our stay here.

Even before we arrived, we knew we would like this B&B. The emails we exchanged with our hosts were rm and friendly.
The house: Very clean, with large rooms and comfortable beds. Nice antiques graced the home and our room. The shared bathroom was spacious and very clean.
The food: Wonderful, filling breakfasts. On our last day, we had stuffed french toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage, fresh fruit, orange juice apple muffins , and milk.
Location: The best for any sight seeing around Palmyra. Close to LDS church sites, the Erie Canal and great littleparks.

This is a delightful B&B right in the heart of tiny Palmyra. Our host were very friendly and helpful, offering advice on where to find dinner in town (we went to Lorrie's Secret Garden, an excellent choice, we highly recommend it). We also found Dad & Brad's Diner (I think that's the name) where they were very friendly and had the most excellent Ice Cream !!!

The Liberty House is very comfortable and homey. We had the downstairs bedroom which was spacious and filled with antiques of the period the house was built in 1840. We sat on the front porch and ate our ice cream on a balmy October evening. It felt like home.

The breakfast was fantastic!!! So yummy I couldn't stop eating. Good Cookin' ! Our host was very knowledgeable about the house, the people who lived there and the area at the time it was new. This place really has that something extra special. I won't tell what it is, you find out for yourself.

My husband, my son and I just returned from Palmyra, NY, for a religious pilgrimage of sorts as Palmyra is the site of the founding of our church. We decided to stay at the Liberty House B & B just based on the list of accommodations given by our church's historical sites website. Irene Unterborn was our hostess and the most gracious ever. We had planned to arrive by 7pm at the latest, but because we left our other place of visit late, we did not arrive in Palmyra until almost 10 pm. We had called Irene ahead of time to tell her of the delay, and she and her husband were the most kind by waiting for us.
We had booked the upstairs of the house. There are two very spacious rooms upstairs: one with a double bed and a single, and one with a queen bed. The shared bathroom is huge and well-appointed. The only thing missing was a hairdryer, but then I did not ask Irene if one could be borrowed. Upstairs there is also a little retreat/loft with chairs and a chessboard table. Each room has a large closet and a dresser. There is also a shelf filled with books to read. Cable TV is also one of the amenities. Downstairs is a nicely decorated bedroom with a queen bed and a twin and a private bathroom. You can relax in a comfortable living room and we had two wonderful gourmet candlelit breakfasts in the dining room. Irene fixes a different menu every morning and is attentive to details, service and dietary needs. The first morning we had fruit salad, chocolate chip muffins, and a delightful frittata along with hot cocoa and orange juice. The other guests also had coffee. The morning of our departure we had fruit salad, apple muffin tops crunchy with maple sugar grains (delicious with butter and jam), corn pancakes and scrambled eggs with ham. We were so happily full. Irene gives you a key to the house and you come and go as you wish. Liberty House is conveniently located in the heart of Palmyra, walking distance to the downtown and practically next door to the Four churches corner (the only one of its kind in any American village). The house is a beautiful Victorian style house. We will be back.
