I just returned from my second overnight stay at the River Edge Mansion. Although it was only one night's stay, it was so relaxing it felt like longer. The hosts went out of their way to make sure all guests were accommodated, with all rooms being full. Breakfast was fun, we all sat family style with the owners. Tons of food. Something for every one.
I spent the morning before I left lounging on the dock on the Oneida River soaking up the solitude, watching the geese and ducks, along with the occasional boats with fishermen.
Something to note would be it's proximity to the Erie Canal. Being right on the Oneida River would lend itself to the boat travelers docking for the night and staying at the B&B.
The room in which I stayed was well appointed with a king sized bed, and a huge spa like bath attached. It was extremely luxurious. I had an opportunity to tour some of the other rooms and was quite taken by the front bedroom with the canopy bed, gas fireplace and whirlpool tub in the room. The rooms are furnished with oriental rugs, and antiques or repros of the period.
What a great place for someone returning to the area for a school or family reunion, wedding, or graduation from one of the many colleges in the area.
