“Great find at the top of the lakes”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

We booked the Yorkshire Inn after much searching for a B n B with two bedrooms, one with twin beds, and a handicapped accessible bathroom for our 90 something Mom. The Yorkshire Inn's Rose Suite answered our quest and then some. The rooms were spacious with a queen sleigh bed in one, double closets and two twin trundle beds in the other room. An ironing board, iron, hairdryer and plush towels are also provided. There is a spacious deck off the main bedroom. All rooms are on the first floor.

We also wanted to visit wineries at several of the Finger Lakes and the Yorkshire Inn is an easy drive to the north ends of Cayuga, Seneca and Canandaigua Lakes. Innkeepers, Kathy and Doug are great hosts, cooks and conversationalists. They will recommend restaurants, wineries, sights etc. We loved their 2 well behaved dogs. We need to return as we never got to Canandaigua Lake!

Room Tip: The Inn sits close to Rt. 96 so there is a bit of road noise when sleeping. Bring ear plugs if tha...

We had a great stay at the Yorkshire Inn. The host was very nice and he was a great cook!! Just an FYI, if you are not a dog person than this is not the place for you, the dogs run the roost...lol. We stayed in The Lodge, the room was large and comfortably slept the 5 of us. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because I wished it was closer to the lake, it is only a 15 mintute drive...but would of been nice if we could just walk to the lake and fish. The Yorkshire Inn is about a hour and 15 minute drive to Watkins Glen State Park, this is a must do if you are planning a trip to the Finger Lakes!!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Inn. Our room was the Blue Room and it was very nice but you have to like light (not sun) in the morning to wake you up. The owners are friendly & nice. Our breakfast was filling and tasty. It was enjoyable to chat with the other guests while we ate. The two friendly dogs weren't a problem for us either. We would recommend this Inn.

Room Tip: In the warmer weather, this room would be really nice, as it has a deck off it so you can sit &...

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, that is our goal. We recently made some changes to the Blue Room. The thing that people have been most complimentary about (regarding the Blue Room) is how bright and sunny it is. The thing that has been the number one complaint (of other guests) is how bright and sunny it is. We have pondered exactly how to resolve this for a couple of years. When we added insulated, room darkening curtains to the Rose Room it significantly changed the character of the room. Kathe has a serious dislike of standard roller shades and felt they would not provide the level of detail that we constantly strive for.

We just installed room darkening, cordless cellular shades and re-mounted the curtains. We are very happy with the result. It didn't change that bright and sunny character that so many people enjoy. The shades push up, completely out of the way so you can have your choice - bright and sunny or a very dark room with complete privacy.

For a quick weekend visit to Geneva, the Yorkshire Inn was a perfect place to stay. It is conveniently located 12 minutes away from downtown Geneva. The Inn is clean, quiet, and very comfortable! The rooms are provided with everything you need and more. Go see Doug and Kathe the innkeepers, they are great people with a wonderful place!

Room Tip: My fiance and I stayed in the Blue Room. Very quiet and clean!

The Inn keepers are amazing people! We had such a great stay. I couldn't imagine wanting to stay somewhere else. The room was beautiful and they made us feel like one of the family. Location is perfect for all your wine/beer tasting needs.

This was my 1st experience @ a B & B and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Doug & Kathe made us feel right @ home & were very personable....perfect for running a B & B. We stayed in the Rose Suite which was Beautiful! The common areas were very comfortable. The breakfast was AWESOME as well as the company. I was there with a girlfriend....since the hubby had no desire....LOL! Hope to visit them again during summer w/ or w/o the men!

Room Tip: The Rose Suite was on the back side of house so it was PERFECT!

We would like to extend our appreciation to all of our customers over the past year as we have remodeled our 200 year old B&B to include two new guest suites. The comments have been key to making the guest experience even better.

Over the winter we have added cozy electric fireplaces to the new rooms to add both ambiance and a touch of extra heat to the rooms. We have also expanded the guest books in each room to explain how to best use the heating/AC units. We have also increased the number of wall hooks in each room to provide extra places to hang your clothes. This spring we are adding a more lighting in the Lodge bath, extra bathroom shelving and additional seating in the rooms.

It is due to honest guest conversation around the breakfast table and online reviews that we can improve everyone's experience. And that is our goal, to provide a friendly and comfortable place to stay when you are away from home.

So from Doug and Kathe Latch (with Pippi and Luna, too) we say thank you.

We were hosted by the Latch Family for Veteran's Day 2013. It was our first stay at a Bed and Breakfast and it was an awesome experience. Their friendliness, beautiful accommodations yummy(!) food and cute dogs were the highlight of our trip. Our room, bed, bathroom, and all of the common areas were super clean. We felt like honored guests and would recommend anyone to stay here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 'Blue Room' and really enjoyed the bright windows and attached bathroom!
