had the opportunity to stay the night at this lovely B & B. Its right next door to the canal and a 2 minute walk from a quaint little town that 100 years ago must have been a great stop on or near one of the canal lockes. This place is tucked in a nice tree lined corner with lots of privacy. The owner/host is near by and very attentive to your needs. The rooms are large and lovely and decorated just like the house from that era in time. Close to area attractions and just a few minutes more to interstates and large shopping areas with anything you could want. Bed was very comfy and a few light snacks and breakfast was included. A great fresh cooked breakfast at that with lots of fresh fruit, juice and lovely table settings. Pat is a gracious hostess. If ever in this area again i would pick this place over those large or small hotel/motels anytime. Thanks for a lovely over nite stay..

Room Tip: The front main street room has a firm bed which i loved but you might not, another room our family s...

We had a recent get-a-away for a celebration. We stayed at the Canal lamp Inn and enjoyed every moment that we were there. The hostess, Pat was so helpful and the breakfast was enough to make anyone happy. Being celiac there are challenges but Pat was very willing to assist me with the choices and also brought in a friend and she made me special pancakes. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The establishment had other folks present also and they were wonderful company at breakfast. This B&B establishment is special but it certainly shows that Pat cares greatly about her business. This little town has lots to offer. With wonderful walking paths on the canal, shopping so close at hand, and we also took part in the house tours in the village. We look forward to a return trip next year.

The inn's next door neighbor is the canal. We had the whole inn to ourselves for the weekend; after we arrived, my girlfriend decided she pick her favorite room for us, fortunately it was the same room that I had selected as well! She loved the tub. It was a great get-away for us even though we live in Rochester, less time driving; allows for more face time! The innkeeper ,make a great fresh breakfast and is helpful with special diets. She is very friendly, nice and flexible too; my girlfriend wants to make this an annual event for us now.

Room Tip: The canal-view room in the back of the inn, has a double (large) size bathtub.

I recently stayed at theCanal Lamp Inn with a group of friends. Yes, it is true that the hosts are not present however, it also gives you a sense of privacy. They were only a phone call away. We had the best girlfriends weekend one could ask for. There was plenty of space and the bedrooms are comfortable and charming. Pat made us breakfast each morning, which was delicious. A short walk brings you to Starbucks, shopping and restaurants in the village of Pittsford. A short walk the other direction brings you onto the Erie Canal. I would recommend this Inn!

Room Tip: Each of the rooms has it's own charm.

We stayed at the Canal Lamp Inn so we could visit our family in the Rochester Area. The staff was professional and the Victorian house was decorated beautifully for the Holidays. We had lots of privacy and enjoyed the cozy surroundings. The breakfasts are fantastic. There is no wifi most of the time. We will definitely be back.

Location was perfect for our biking trip on the Erie Barge Canal trail. House was very nice, bedrooms spacious and beds comfortable however if you are expecting a typical B&B you will be disappointed. There is no resident host so you have the very spacious house to yourself. Someone (different person each of the 2 days we were there) will come in to prepare breakfast. There is no facility to make your own early morning coffee, and although internet is advertised, no access code is provided. There is no information how to get into the house, only a telephone # to call (if you have a cell phone!) There was no local information available although Schoen Place across the road have a number of good places to eat, we enjoyed the Coal Tower and Alladin's, and McCarthy's in the lovely town of Pittsford. We have since contacted the owner with basically a "no comment" reply.

Room Tip: All rooms are very spacious

This is one of the loveliest Bed and Breakfasts that I know. The rooms are very nicely done; the location right on the canal with miles of walking paths; and absolutely delicious breakfast. I would recommend this whole-heartedly over any hotel in the area, if you like B & B.
