Had to stay in Plattsburgh last night and stayed at the latest reincarnation of this little hotel now owned by the La Quinta chain. We have stayed here before when it was under different ownership. The service is polite and the rooms clean. Problem is that not everything works in every room. We were first given a room where the sink would not allow the water to go down. The front desk moved us to another room which was fine except the telephone was broken and did not work. Since we use our own cell phones, it wasn't a problem. Internet is free which is a plus these days since so many hotels have begun or are still charging for access. Bedding is a bit frayed. towels are thick and fluffy. Only one bar of soap makes for a problem when you need it at the sink and it is in the tub. Breakfast is adequate, breads, muffins, bagels, yogurt, cereal (no skim milk), waffles and hard boiled eggs, along with coffee and juice. Bananas and apples were in the lobby. We didn't use the pool, although it was right outside our door and seemed to be empty most of the time. Room rates are reasonable with discounts for AAA and AARP. Definitely would stay again if we were in Plattsburgh for the night. Your choice for the reason for the trip did not include medical which was why we were there.

We're a family of 4, with 2 boys ages 4 and 6. This room was perfect for us. It was clean, decent size, and best of all, I don't know if it's because the hotel wasn't at full capacity or what, but we didn't hear a single sound from the neighboring rooms. My boys enjoyed the pool very much, including the hot tub, and it's open late so that's a perfect way for them to tire themselves out and go to sleep no problem!! The breakfast was yummy, there is a waffle maker and our whole family ate waffles for breakfast. Definitely better than your regular continental breakfast. The hotel is located close to the shopping center, everything is nearby, including restaurants and grocery store. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

This hotel really is nothing special. The beds were kind of limp but the room was clean and had no particular odour. The only problem that I had seemed to encounter were the stairs. They werent clean and had spider webs in the courners. Also, the breakfast was standard, only one choice of cereal if I remember correctly. There is only one computer so if someone is using it then the other guest would have to wait or keep coming down to check if the computer is available. The check-in line was kind of slow, but not because of the staff but a guest who was not sure of what they were doing.

Room Tip: Don't choose a room on the first floor, towards the right facing the elevator -- smells like heavy smoking in the hallway.

We stay here a few times a year and are always happy with the rates and the comfort of the rooms. They have a yummy breakfast that is free and has someone to monitor it so you are never facing empty coffee or empty food trys. Very nice hotel and reasonable rates.

Room Tip: I booked on the internet and explored all discounts before making the reservation.
