We drive almost a hour to have brunch here when we are visiting relatives in NY. Amazing quality pancakes, fresh maple syrup, and a great relaxing atmosphere. On our way again soon!

We were fortunate to be there when the maple sap was running (mid March) and could appreciate this fascinating process in action. But putting that aside it's still worth visiting out of season to be able to enjoy a great meal which exploits the local maple syrup to it's full extent.

Definitely something to check out, whether you have never been here before or are from out of the area. The grounds are beautiful no matter what time of year it is and the restaurant is very cozy and charming. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Be sure to check out their adorable gift shop, where you can buy unique products (I recommend the maple cotton candy). Also, depending on the time of year, they give tractor rides where you can see the process of making maple syrup. Here you will get samples of doughnuts and maple wine. A great place for all!

Whether you're in the mood for breakfast fare like pancakes, waffles or french toast or burgers, or a thanksgiving style turkey dinner, Sprague's is the place for you! I have sampled Berries on a Cloud waffle (strawberries & whipped cream piled high on a Belgian waffle), omelets, pancakes, turkey dinners and my favorite - corned beef hash! Other family members have had and highly recommend Sugar on Snow waffle and the Pilgrim sandwich which is basically a Thanksgiving meal in a sandwich! All of the food has been delicious. They make their own maple syrup and you can learn more about the process both inside the restaurant and outside. They also make their own maple sausage which is delicious and they raise their own organic turkeys which yields tender, tasty, juicy meat. The dining room is huge and fills up quickly at key times but service is fast and friendly and the line moves quickly. They also have a cute gift shop where you can purchase their maple syrup and other maple products in addition to other gift items.
