Chef Joel aims to please his patrons. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, great service. His sauces are wonderful. Everything is cooked to perfection. Parking can be a problem depending on the day, but it is a congested part of Poughkeepsie.

Amici's offers an old-school Italian dining experience with classic Italian style food and Frank Sinatra hits playing in the background. I ordered the shrimp and scallop fra diavolo, along with a house salad ($3 extra), and a big fat glass of chianti. Everything was quite tasty and it was just what I was looking for. Service was very attentive. Dinner all in with tax and tip came to $46. Not inexpensive but it was good.

If it is a Thursday night, look for me at a window table. I will probably be having the loaded chicken parm, but I do recommend checking out the specials. Everything seems fresh, and well prepared.
