We've been coming to Poughkeepsie for 4 years to visit Vassar and have made a point of trying every top restaurant in the area (Poughkeepsie and New Paltz) and this is one of our new favorites. We were very intrigued by the menu and tried to sample off of the more unusual dishes. Starters: Octopus, Chicken Liver Pate, Vietnamese Sliders. WOW....all very good with little touches like local farm veggies, homemade Kimchi and a lovely red wine gelee on the pate. The Octopus was a standout...PERFECTLY cooked and very flavorful. Mains: Scallops, Braised Lamb with pasta, and lamb sausage sandwich. Every dish carefully and expertly prepared. My fave was the braised lamb.....fantastic comfort food! Note....we went at an off-hour (Sunday afternoon) so the place was relatively empty, so we had great personal service and attention. The owner is very charming and passionate about good, fresh, local ingredients and we wish him great success and look forward to more excellent meals here!
