“A comfortable stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2013

I stayed two nights for a work trip and found the hotel very comfortable. I was especially pleased with the staff who were very helpful taking me to a nearby mall to sort out a mobile phone sim card - which I really appreciated. Breakfast was good, with lots of choice.

Spent three days on a family vacation in Hudson Valley. Hotel was a good location to Catskills while providing many dinner options around hotel. Service was good and room was large and clean. We were traveling with our dog and there were places to walk her. Quiet hotel and a nice breakfast, although wish breakfast would go later than 9 am. Would recommend this to anyone traveling to this area.

I stayed in this hotel for two night while on business in Poughkeepsie. The hotel was well lit and safe ( important for a woman traveling alone). Room was clean with a nice desk setup for work. I would recommend.

I've stayed at the Residence Inn Poughkeepsie several times over the last 6 months. The rooms are clean, modern and well maintained. Having a kitchenette, sofa, desk and free wifi are great amenities to have in a hotel room. I took advantage of the comfortable seating in their outside courtyard which helped me "unwind" in the evening.

Jelena, the Assistant General Manager, is wonderful! She would welcome me (along with her staff) every time I stayed at the hotel. A few times I stayed alone and I felt very safe in my surroundings.

The hotel offers a good breakfast and there are several restaurants next door to the hotel.

The Residence Inn is the perfect place to stay while visiting Poughkeepsie.

We stayed here for one night on the way to Rocking Horse Ranch, NY. Lovely hotel; rooms were spotless and the kids loved the pool. We had a suite with a sofa bed and a king sized bed and a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave etc, loved the fact that the room had a door between the sofa area and the bedroom so our daughter could be in a separate room. Plenty of choice and good quality food for breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel, especially for families travelling with small children, and also recommend the excellent diner across the street (Table Talk). For $99 a night ( military rate) this is pretty close to perfect!

We had a one bedroom unit facing the back parking lot which itself was against tall trees, providing a nice green scenery. Great lobby and breakfast area - all newly renovated, as was the room - new furniture. Indoor pool, outdoor basketball and within steps to an upscale diner, Starbucks and an okay Japanese restaurant. Solid breakfast, with make your own waffle and hot and cold dishes. Great hotel stay close to FDR house, the Culinary Inst of America, etc.

Room Tip: recommend a room facing the back, although the hotel is set back from the main road so it didn't...

We stayed in this hotel during a stopover on our way to Vermont last week. We chose this hotel based on Trip Advisor recommendations and I am pleased to say the Trip Advisor community did not let us down. This hotel was lovely – clean, the room was spacious and the staff was extremely polite (which I always find to be the case at Marriott hotels).

Pros: clean, spacious rooms, basketball court on premise, very well maintained grounds and outdoor patio, nice pool, hot tub and yoga/workout room. The location is very convenient as well.

Cons: while the continental breakfast in included with the price of the hotel, I would say it’s worth the money you paid for it (which is nothing). Not sure why hotels offer such a sub-par breakfast experience. You’re better off going to the Diner or Starbucks right across the street. The bed was not as comfortable as I had hoped, but for one night it was doable. We paid $150/per night, kind of high for Poughkeepsie. Despite the few cons, this is a really nice property and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
