The rooms are small but that is not a big deal for new York. The main problem was that the ac was not working that well in the room and to make matters worse management had the hatch that goes to the roof open, so the small amount of air coming from the ac was going straight outside. If you are looking for a place that is easy to get to manhattan, it is not too hard but it's pricy. Spend the money on your hotel to stay closer and you will still come out the same money after saving on not paying the train ride.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your decision to stay at Howard Johnson Queens Village.

Upon receipt of your review immediate steps were taken. The rooms Air Conditioner was serviced. Maintenance was instructed to see that the Air Conditioners are working in suitable condition and to keep the roof hatch close at all times.

I greatly appreciate your taking the time to call these matters to our attention. I hope that your next visit to the Howard Johnson Queens Village will be a much pleasanter one and that you will be pleased with the improvements which you will see which you have helped to bring about.

I had to spend few days in hotel beacause my house was being renovated and never thought that I would be writing review on this hotel. The rooms were nice size with HD TVS and HD channels were a great addition. This hotel was clean and I got alot of my work done due to excellent WIFI signal. Would recommend to anyone.

The hotel itself is great when you consider the price. It's cheap, close to a metro, and the rooms are nice and clean. The staff was rather unhelpful, but there were always someone there you could ask, so at least it seemed liked they cared. The area is, as others say, not the nicest, but it is honestly not that bad. If you go through the backdoor you can avoid a dark and creepy street, and I would recommend people to do so.

The breakfast is BORING and there aren't enough tables and chairs. One day there wasn't even any breakfast at all because the guy in charge of that had not shown up. There was no information from the staff, and unless you asked you wouldn't have known that there would be no breakfast that day.

I would recommend this hotel simply because of the price and the approximity of the metro. It is so easy to get to Manhattan. Oh, and the free Wi-Fi - awesome!

The best part of the hotel is it is quite near Manhattan, take a cab or take the subway are convenient. Room is good, clean and not strange smell. The bath room is a little bit old but ok, good for this price.

Bad part is it is in a comparable unsafe neighborhood, cab driver told me not to walk at night near the hotel. So drive a car to the hotel or just take cab.

BTW, the free breakfast is a plus.

Room Tip: nyc trip

If you need a no frills space then this is the place. The room was clean & there is a nice flat screen hanging on the wall for your enjoyment. The hotel is close to the highway, 7-Eleven & Dunkin Donut. There is free Wi-Fi with a bad connection & I believe to use the computer; it is $1 for 5 minutes.

We did a google map search & realized that there was a train near by. We called the hoetel & asked how close the train was & the desk clerk claimed 1 blook away. This was not true. The train is literally behind the parking lot of the hotel. Try asking for a room in the front. I believe you will not hear the train which runs ALL NIGHT!

It was good for the price...! It is not the Hilton (smile)

Room Tip: Ask for a front room!
