“Unfortunate location makes for noisy nights”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We found our tent site to be large and very clean. However, having the campground located right next to I-87 means that nights are not quiet. Perhaps this is not an issue for those in RVs. One other thing that was frustrating was the lack of a bench, shelf or hooks in the restrooms. If you want to bring a toiletries bag into the restroom the only place to put it is on the sink counter which is often wet and/or dirty.

This park has very friendly staff. The sites are well shaded but a little close together. No bells and whistles but a nice little campground that serves the purpose if you want to be near the theme park. There's a bus that comes by frequently to take you to the park. There's a Walmart just up the road, and a liquor store. Great location!

We stayed in July 2012. The noise from I-87 makes it difficult to sleep at night, especially in a tent as we were. The bathrooms surely need some work. There were only a small handful of others tenting. There was a section of RV's/trailers that looked like they were there for the season. Based on what we saw, it looks like they always have tent spots available, even over the weekends. The pool was nice, though a bit small. On the plus side, it is an easy walk to Great Escape. A place nearby to try is Martha's Dandee Creme! Awesome ice cream, huge portions at a small price.

8 min walk to Great Escape. Overall Clean and quiet, a bit inconveniently set up, roads are confusing and not well marked. They have a pool we did not use, activity schedule, store.

Honestly we set up a tent and slept there one night, as a way to save the 18$ parking fee at the Great Escape. We were set up at another camp ground, but after calculating, we decided to move in order to save money.

Well, they are an OK campground. When you start staying a few times you will see that the place needs some TLC. To bad that the people who work there don't take pride in the campground. They need to put themselves in the shoes of the campers and potential campers. The bathrooms - well they need some work, mens and ladies. Over memorial day weekend they were bad - I know that there were alot of people there BUT really... I'm sure that the workers don't paid much but there are people who take pride in what they do no matter what. If your asking would I stay here again - yes - WHY?? LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...This campground is in the perfect area and I personally think it could be packed all the time if the place was kept up! It is literally within walking distance of Six Flags, mini golf courses, and go -karts - how perfect for kids (of all ages). Upper management should visit their campgrounds more often, regional managers need to get out of their office and take a look around. Talk to some seasonals or frequent campers and ask them how, what could be done different. I have talked to the office located in Saratoga and expressed my feelings, so please don't think I'm here venting I have called.

We arrived into Lake George at 1am so had no luck finding an open campground anywhere until we pulled up to Lake George Campsites, just past Six Flags. Thankfully the attendant let us stay the night with a small deposit.
The grounds are relatively clean, and the sites all have fire pits and picnik tables. There is a games room and a lovely pool as well as a camp shop but buy firewood elsewhere unless you want to pay a fortune!

The pros about this campground are its facilities, convenience, and proximity to the attractions.

My only complaint is how close it is to the I-87....when we woke up the next day we noticed we were sleeping beside the highway and bought ear plugs to avoid another noisy night. Many people might find this offensive due to the very nature of camping and getting away from the city noises, but to us it was a minor irritation.

Ask at the front desk for discount coupons to Six Flags!

My family and I just returned from a 3 night stay at Lake George Campsites in Queensbury NY. We were extremely disappointed at the very poor management of this facility. The ladies room repeatedly had NO toilet paper and no paper towels, even after we informed the manager after the second night. After the third night, there was still no toilet paper in the ladies rooms at 8am on the 4th of July. The toilets were also disgustingly dirty. In addition, there was no enforcement at all of quiet hours, and the guests next to us had their children running around and shrieking at 2am. They were also setting off fireworks day and night, even after the police had been called by 2 different guests. We tried to contact the staff but no one was working overnight. I now know why there were still sites available here when there were no others in Lake George 2 weeks before July 4th.

Room Tip: Go someplace else!
