We last went for the buffet on Sundays in 2012. This time we arrived on Saturday with a party of six and ordered from the menu. To the point, it was excellent. The freshness of the ingredients, the aroma and balance of spices to your preference made for a wonderful meal. It is still BYOB. The owners were on hand to help with the menu selections and the floor staff were equally helpful. Tables were covered in spotless linens. Can't wait for our next visit!

R and I had lunch here last week. We were the only diners present, and there was no background music. This normally a recipe for a glum lunch!

However, the pleasant surroundings, deferential service and excellent food more than made up for any shortcomings in ambience. R had chicken saag and I had tandori kebab. They do not appear to serve alcohol (?) so we had water which kept the bill to a very reasonable amount.

I have family coming over from the UK in June and we shall certainly be taking them to The Curry House. As good as any Midland UK curry house - and that's a big compliment!

We have never had very good luck picking good Indian food outside of NYC . Unless it was another big city such as Boston or Philly . This time around we were happy to find decent food . We did not like the atmosphere of the place but will willing to give take-out a try . We were staying in the area for a couple of days and the B&B we stayed at had not opened their restaurant for the season yet . So grill cheese and can soup in the room or try Red Hook Curry House . We made the better choice . More than enough food for the two of us and it was good . Not great but good . We had the TANDOORI CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA and Naan bread . Very mild , we like it spicier . Recommended if you in the area but not if it's out of your way . Needs some help in the decor but it is good that they had Indian music playing for background .

My husband and I were looking for a place to stop after visiting a farmers' market in the Red Hook area. Scrolling through options that came up via my mobile phone, this restaurant popped up. Since we both enjoy Indian cuisine, we decided to give it a try. We were greeted by a gentleman that I believe was the owner. We were seated and, after reviewing the menu (which offered quite a nice variety of dishes), he took our order. Everything was made fresh, so it took about 20 minutes or so before we got our food, which was fine with us. The gentleman who waited on us had a rather serious and abrupt personality. But when we joked with him, he did smile a bit. I saw another reviewer make the comment that he was rude. I don't think that was intended; however, people expect someone running a restaurant and dealing with the public to be friendlier -- some may find his demeanor a bit off-putting, but we didn't mind. Everything we ate was delicious and we really enjoyed the meal. The restaurant decor was typical of many Indian restaurants. It could possibly benefit from more lighting. However, we're the type of people who prefer good food to fancy decor, so we certainly didn't have a problem with it, and it looked and smelled clean....which is what really matters. All in all, we enjoyed our meal and would certainly go there again whenever we happen to be in the area.

It smelled like the exterminator had just left which was unpleasant. I really couldn't eat the food and the atmosphere was dark and unpleasant.
