Old Stone Farm was an absolute surprise we booked it not knowing too much other than there were massages available and an afternoon yoga class. This place blew us away, the front gates open magically to serene rolling hills and set in the center are two beautiful simple barn like buildings with horses grazing in the paddocks. We were greeted by the staff who treated us like old friends, they could not have been more accommodating or welcoming.
The rooms are lovely, we had a corner room with a wrap around view of the pasture, a little bit of a western theme going on in the décor, the place is filled with folk art and wonderful paintings by local artists, there are so many things to admire, at every turn some new hooked rug or funny naïve painting caught my eye. The room was immaculate and every attention is paid to guests comfort, there is even a little pantry a few doors down where you can make coffee or tea and grab a snack. The key to comfort here is simplicity, nothing lavish but everything is relaxed and homey.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were provided and the food was superb, absolutely top notch. Healthy and Delicious. Yes it is possible! Grilled Salmon with a Honey Glaze and Faro salad with tiny sweet tomatoes, homemade blackberry sorbet with freshly baked ginger snaps. Chef Matt was a wizard in the kitchen, I dream about his cooking now.
We took a two hour yoga class, I am a rank beginner but felt comfortable and relaxed during the class. The Yoga Barn is spacious and airy, all the matts are new, everything is pristine and the teacher was fantastic.
What I truly loved were the horses, you can visit them, pet them and treat them with carrots. There will be some kind of horse program available in the future where you can work one on one with the horses.
Old Stone Farm is a fantastic place to stay, I felt more like I was visiting with good friends and I had the best week-end of the entire summer. I give this place and its wonderful staff my highest recommendation.
