“A Nice Break From The Hustle!”

This was exactly what we needed and more! My wife and I spent our 5 year anniversary at this warm, quiet getaway. We stayed in the "Northwind" which is one of their largest suites and i could not have asked for anything more with a Jacuzzi and fireplace! Maggie was a phenomenal hostess and served up a wonderful breakfast every morning to get you started while making you feel at home. We will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I traveled to upstate NY this autumn to see the foliage and have a great weekend away from NYC. The final night of our trip we had the absolute PLEASURE of staying at Whistlewood Farm near historic Rhinebeck, NY.

From the moment arrived, we couldn't believe how incredible this place was. It was what you would call the "quintessential B&B." Cozy ranch-style - lived-in feel, amazing decorations, cozy fireplaces, and absolutely BREATHTAKING rooms. On top of everything else, there was a table with amazing pumpkin pie, coffeecakes, coffee, tea and other delicious treats out for us to eat at our leisure!

The staff were amazing - we were greeted very warmly and shown around the entire b&b shortly after our arrival. They were very kind and informative and welcoming. We stayed in the Northwind Room in the Carriage House and it was INCREDIBLE. Honestly, it couldn't have been more perfect. This room had such ambiance that my boyfriend I actually chose to come home early that night to just spend time together and enjoy our beautiful room. Right outside our windows there were horses grazing who actually came over to us and let us pet them for a good 15 minutes the following morning. Seriously, we thought we were hallucinating or something.

The morning breakfast was just out of control - extremely yummy eggs made to order, tasty bagels and english muffins, musli and cereals, dollar pancakes, bacon, coffeecakes, juices, coffee, tea. We had seconds and almost thirds. And during our breakfast, some of the other guests were celebrating a birthday, and the entire Whistlewood Staff came running out with a cake and candles and sang happy birthday to them and gave us all cake!

The staff then made a point to come around to all the guests for friendly conversation and asked us how we liked our stay. When it was finally time to leave, we actually hugged the InnKeeper we loved this place so much. We will DEFINITELY be coming back without question. Honestly, I haven't been to a better B&B in my entire life, and it couldn't have been more picture perfect than this.

I recommend this place HIGHLY. In fact, so highly that it would be an absolute crime on anyone's part for not staying here if you are visiting this gorgeous area of the historic Hudson Valley.

AMAZING. Simply amazing amazing amazing a trillion times over.

We have just had a great weekend at Whistlewood Farm! We stayed in the Wyoming room -- plenty of room for 4 people -- and enjoyed their beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast, adorable horses and calm oasis of a property.

Staying at Whistlewood was the best of both worlds: like staying a someone's house in terms of comfort and community (great baked goods like cookies and pie out all the time, and an open kitchen and comfy common rooms), but like staying in a hotel with great amenities, lots of well-organized private space and useful recommendations for nearby food and activities.

Everything you would need in a hotel was provided (a large bathtub, hairdryer, plenty of pillows, a good-temperature room with a gas fireplace, etc.), and the rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. They get a very "antiqued" look (there was even a huge canoe on the ceiling of our room!), and clearly a lot of thought has been put into the decorations. All the interesting and beautiful antiques in each room look like they belong together and don't overcrowd the space.

The fact that it is also a farm was great fun--we got to pet and feed the very friendly horses! But never fear for city people: the bed and breakfast aspect is a priority, and this looks (and smells!) more like a beautifully appointed b&b than a farm.

We look forward to going back soon--a great country retreat in a beautiful area!

We just came back from an amazing stay in the Wyoming Room at Whistlewood Farms. From the moment I spoke to Maggie on the phone, I felt an instant warm connection. She was very accomodating and sweet, wanting to ensure that my romantic getaway would be a success. The grounds are simply beautiful and extremely well kept. The moment that you arrive, you are made to feel welcomed. From our names being hand written on the door, to a warm and inviting kitchen with delectible pies and cakes, we wanted for nothing. As if a beautiful cozy room with a wonderful working fireplace, jacuzzi tub and private patio were not enough, we were greeted the next day with a fabulous breakfast!! Pancakes, Tasty French Toast, Bacon, Sausage, Amazing Eggs to order, Jams, Breads, Cakes, Fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juice etc. The Wyoming room was both spacious and cozy as well as private. The rustic decor adds to the charm. I would definately go back for another stay, as well as definately recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway.

Loved it, if we would have had more time we would have stayed longer just so we could spend more time at the B&B itself. It's hard not to love all the critters, especially the Donkey. The food was wonderful, nice little social setting. It was very convenient to get to the Old Rheinbeck Aerodrome ( less than 5 minutes) Can't imagine all the work that it took to create this little piece of paradise. Thank You Maggie

My boyfriend, his parents, and I spent a weekend at the Whistlewood (wyoming room & morningside room). The property itself is gorgeous with horse stable & friendly horses, several friendly cats, and two well behaved dogs. It's located in a very rural area just outside Rhinebeck.

Maggie the innkeeper was very welcoming, explained lots of details, gave good advice, and did a phenomenal job with the breakfasts and dessert table. Eggs made-to-order, bacon or sausage, pancakes or french toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, fresh muffins, her sister,s stollen, homemade jams, cobblers, cookies pies.... need I say more!

My boyfriends parents do not travel much and have only stayed in a B&B one other time. They were in the lovely wyoming room in the main house and just loved the comfort of the house and the proximity to the treat table. The view out of their sliding doors overlooked the horse fields, flowers, and beautiful woods

We were in a separate house down the lane from the main house and across from the stable that contained 3 rooms and a little kitchenette. There was fresh coffee in this house in the morning to get you through until you made it up to the main house.

The rooms and inn are spotless and in very good condition. Bathrooms seem to be new (modern, clean, no mold). Our room and the parents room had gas fireplaces that put out a nice amount of heat and glow for the chilly nights.

All of us would come back and stay here in a heartbeat!!

Great dinner at Gigi's and Arielle's.

My husband and I just returned from a restful, re-energizing weekend at the Whistlewood. My husband is a fan of luxury hotels with indoor pools and Jacuzzi tubs. I, on the other hand, was more in need of a quiet, romantic weekend away without the kids and since I was making the plans I chose the Whistlewood. Neither of us was disappointed. The property at the Whistlewood is beautifully maintained, private and serene. The hostess/owner, Maggie, is lovely and has a wonderful sense of humor, which made it a pleasure to be in her company. We stayed in the Juniper room, which was tastefully decorated and felt like "home" as soon as we stepped in. Actually, the whole house felt like "home" immediately. It is warm and inviting from the get go.....not stuffy and formal like many other B&B's. The only thing that could have made the weekend better was an extra night! A lovely weekend in a beautiful setting with an accommodating, gracious hostess...what more could we ask for? Oh yes, and Grandma was watching the kids....PERFECT! We'll be back!
