WhistleWood Farm Bed and Breakfast is a delight. Picture a spacious ranch house set on beautiful 40 acre grounds, with lovely guest rooms, spacious sitting areas, fireplaces, patios, antique and period furniture, a 24-hour snack and dessert table, hearty breakfast made to your order, and the most gracious hostess imaginable. The grounds include walking tails and horse barns and paddocks housing some very handsome and quite friendly animals that will appeal to horse lovers. Whether for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, you'll savor the experience.

The beautiful horses grazing in the fields of this comfortable B&B set it apart from others in the area. (Our son went to Bard, so we've sampled a few...) Barbara is thoughtful and warmly welcoming, the array of pies and cakes on hand is diet-defying and breakfast is fresh and ample.

From the moment I drove up the lane it was magical. The property is beautiful in the midst of rolling hills with gorgeous horses in the paddocks.

I was sad that I staying for only one night. I would have loved to stay for several nights.

The house is immaculate and full of tender loving care. The breakfasts are fantastic and there are always tempting baked goods out.

The perfect place to get away from it all with a wonderful and generous hostess.

Everything about Whistlewood was wonderful! May be the best B&B I've stayed in. Went to celebrate our 8th anniversary and could not have been happier with our choice. Maggie was so friendly and laid back, the setting/views picturesque, the breakfast and desserts terrific, and on and on. Loved the horses (and the donkey) and the walking trail on the edge of the grounds. We stayed in the carriage house (Morningside room - charming, large and rustic, but high on amenities including a fantastic gas fireplace) and enjoyed watching the horses outside our room being led to the field.

Best part of the B&B is that with so much property there are tons of places to eat, sit, picnic, relax. Scenic little spots seem to be everywhere. You'll never feel cramped here. The single downer was that we could only stay one night. Would absolutely recommend Whistlewood.

I am so glad to have found the WistleWood Farm. I travel quite a bit for work, and it is not often I stumble across a place that left me feeling uncomfortable leaving the bed unmade in the morning. Beautiful setting, nice clean rooms, strong coffee and breakfast in the morning. Next time I am in Rhinebeck, NY for business...there is no other place I will stay! Barbara thank you for making me feel so welcome and at home!

We stayed at Whistlewood Farm B&B to get away for a few days. We had heard that Rhinebeck was a cool town. Maggie's warm welcome started us off just right. She recommended great restaurants and great day trips. The B&B has so much character and we felt relaxed, well fed, at ease with nature as we played with her dogs, horses, and walked the farm's own hiking trail. Breakfasts were plentiful, delicious, and Maggie took great care to attend to some dietary needs of mine. She takes great pride in her home and welcomed our exploration of the other rooms and cottages which we hope to share with friends and with each other again.

I agree with all the other reviewers who enjoyed WhistleWood Farm. It was roomy yet cozy with all the comforts of home. The setting is fantastic, just enough away from town for lots of quiet but less than 5 minutes drive from Rhinebeck's shops and restaurants. There are horses, dogs, and cats on the property, and the breakfasts were fresh and delicious (great baked goods!), making me feel like I was truly staying on the farm. That's a farm with all the comforts and modern conveniences of home. My only concern is that it will get so busy that there won't be a room available the next time I want to go!
