Had brunch there on Saturday afternoon. Food is excellent. Service was very attentive. It is a charming Hotel overlooking the Hudson River. I would like to return soon to stay overnight.

Rhinecliff is minutes away from Rhinebeck. What a beautiful area!!

I am a local who has always wanted to stay at the Rhinecliff. We opted for the Wednedsay night dinner and room special for $150 and would never pay a penny more. Our second floor room was lovely and clean with a view of the river but the walls are so thin I could hear the conversations of other guests going on above me all night. The only reprieve was the extremely loud AC which provided white noise from time to time. The food in the restaurant is good but nothing special. There are definitely much better places to eat in Rhinebeck. The service is mediocre at best. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks with only 3 other tables filled. Our appetizers and entrees arrived simoultaneously and were incorrect. Upon seeking the correct order, we were given apologies by the manager who whisked everything away and returned with correct appetizers and later new entrees. Bravo! Overall, it was nice to get away but sadly I would not recommend the Rhinecliff to visiting relatives or friends. Go with friends for a drink, watch the sunset and then have dinner and stay at the Beek in town.

Thank you for taking the time to write! We take all feedback very seriously, whether good, or (thankfully not too often.....) bad! The walls are a little thin it's true, but that's the nature of historic old hotels I'm afraid!
Our date night promotion has been a great hit, mostly with locals who want to have a little celebration, or a bit of fun, and why not I say! The Date Nite menu is fairly simple, yes, we're not trying to win any culinary awards with it. For $50 all-in for two, tip included, yes, Rhinebeck is full of great restaurants, I'll name The Local, Gigi's, Market St, Arielle, Petit Bistro, but $50 here will buy you two entrees, not two three course dinners with tip included, so I do feel you're somehow missing the value proposition here, the Date Nite dinner is a bit of lite fun, not a culinary declaration of intent!
Again with the room, $100 for one of our rooms is an outright steal! I love the Beekman and have stayed there many times, it's a marvelous, classic historic inn, but again I feel you miss the value aspect here. There is no $100 room at the Beek, there is no river view, no private balcony, no double Jacuzzi tub, no flat screen tv, no hand-carved desk and bathroom vanity, no rain shower, no H20 amenities, oh and no fully cooked breakfast with French Press coffee included.......I'm just saying!!
Anyway, I'm sorry you didn't love your Date Nite quite so much, come back another time and I'll be happy to offer you a nice cocktail on us.....tip included of course!!
Regards
James

We stayed here midweek and luckily got to take advantage of the Date Night Special. $100 for the room and $50 for dinner---oh and a full service b'fast! Aside from that bonus, the hotel is wonderfully appointed from the comfortable beds to the bath products (h2o) to the balcony overlooking the Hudson. We stayed in room 301 with vaulted ceilings, large room size and a huge soaking tub. Oh, the rain shower head was wonderful as well. The staff was courteous and Anna our waitress was precise and lovely to chat with. We've spent some time at the 'Cliff prior to the renovation so we had a lots of fond memories there and we're lucky to have made many more. The only reason I gave it 4 stars for cleanliness is bc it's starting to show a bit of wear and tear but nothing to worry about. You won't regret your stay here and visiting Rhinebeck is an added bonus.

Dear Susan,
Thank you for your very kind words! Yes indeed, our little Date Nite promo has been a hit ever since we started it four years ago, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It's true enough, after serving thousands of room and restaurant guests, countless events, perhaps two hundred weddings, we are starting to show a little wear and tear, perhaps it will be time for another five year renovation before long.........thank you and do come and see us again!

We stayed in room 304 for a belated 24th anniversary celebration. We enjoyed the deck, room and hotel very much. The room is big, well appointed and comfortable. The soaking tub was wonderful. We had a light dinner in the bar with a great view of the river and the trains. The views from the deck and the restaurant are mesmerizing. Rhinebeck is a five minute drive away, Kingston and Red Hook are ten minutes away. The walking, hiking and strolling is fabulous. We closed the windows and slept fine. Breakfast was ample and very pleasant. The coffee is good. I would go back to hotel. This area has a long history of innkeeping and this is one of several very appealing choices.

We stayed here a July 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay...so much history with this Inn and such a beautiful setting. Food was excellent and our accommodations were perfect. They have excellent customer service and definitely a perfect venue for a romantic getaway.

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony to really enjoy the river views.
