This place has it all! It's more than just an aquarium with it's beautiful fishes, sharks, turtles, Japanese Spider crabs, seals , etc. There are African penquins, river otters and my suprise monkeys too(although they looked sad in their den). Kids of all ages and young adults will find this small aquarium a fun place to spend the day. There's even an arcade and ice cream store to enjoy. The cafe is doable but didn't like the cheeseburgers/hotdogs so much. Their chicken fingers is much tastier with it's crisp exterior and juicy interior...done well. The french fries are somewhat limp and cold siting under the heat lamps. If you can get it hot..probably taste better. The pretzels are good but too expensive in my opinion. But...you are enjoying the day with the family so who's counting dollars anyway? There are attractions that will cost you more money, like the submarine simulator, penquin encounter(up close and personal) and even a horizontal ferris ride up high. We really enjoyed seeing the butterfly exhibit where you actually see live butterflies flying all over you in their own sanctuary. What a wonderful experience to encounter. There was also a bird avairy(spelling?) with cute birdies that you can touch if they come to you:) PICTURE moments galore!!!

Overall a great place to take the entire family and don't forget to go into town for their food...probably better than the food at the aquarium(sorry...cafe). But if you are just like us...we were hungry and couldn't wait like everyone else and had to get some food there. Guess you're stuck to eat their food no choice. Have fun!!!

This is a fun aquarium with lots to see and do, not so big that you are overwhelmed. I brought my niece who lives for shark week for a treat and we suited up and went in the shark tank . No diving certs needed you are in a cage and lowered into the tank to observe the sharks. Really fun and not something you can easily do .

They also have a very nice informative boat ride on the river which is about an hour and besides the things you learn and see it is a very pleasant break from the summer heat out on the water.

Nice small exhibit areas and friendly staff
Well worth doing.

My husband and I have been wanting to check this place out for years cause this is pretty close to an awesome Tanger Outlet Mall but never went but this year we decided to take a trip out there on Easter for my children and I'm glad we did! The place was really interesting with all of the hands on exhibits and the wonderful animals like the feeding the birds exhibit, the butterfly exhibit which really impressed my little daughters! It was a nice and friendly environment and the food court too with good prices! What was a little disapointing was that a couple of exhibits were closed! All of the rides which they only have a couple was closed, I guess it was because they didn't have many workers but maybe that was because of the holiday and it would of been nice to see more animals and to expand it with more rescued animals would of made it even more enjoyable which would of made me give it a 5 star! Overall I would take my family again and I recommend families to visit this place at least once!

I went here years ago when it was Atlantis. Lame, small, smelly, dirty, and limited exhibits with zero info. Went back this past week to see the sloth. Yes, they have a sloth in the exhibit center. Yes, for the time being it is alive. It is in a small exhibit with bats and two porcupines - yes, they are all crammed into one small area (the bats occasionally fly into the sloth, and the porcupines crawl over the sloth on the "branches"). Felt bad for the poctupines - one of them was doing that pacing thing some animals do when they are stressed. Monkey in another larger exhibit was doing the same thing. Anyway, overall OK. They have some birds that you can feed and let land on you. We took the behind the scenes tour which was somewhat interesting (the tour guide was very good - enthusiastic, and you were able to hear her). Not sure I would say the place is worth the cost of admission - very short on info. If you can only hit one aquarium, go to Coney Island - much better. If you want to see a sloth, the aquarium and exhibit center sure beats the drive to Ohio (next nearest sloth I am aware of). There is a AAA discount (or you can print a $2 per person coupon off their website). Lots of empty cages/displays. Biggest thing in the whole place is the food area. Overall, unless you are going for the sloth - pass.
