Coming from Europe and being on business, I am always looking to try something new. Found Highland park diner and loved the place. Real authentic food (in the usual large American portion size) with super qualify. The waitresses are super friendly and you feel at ease as soon as you enter this establishment. It's my go-to-place for breakfast when in Rochester.

I've wanted to go to the Lilac Festival for years and I finally did this past Spring. The festival itself, outside of the music is just a way to get your money. That may not be a popular opinion, but I am not sorry for it. The true star of the show is walking Highland Park. I have walked may parks and arboretums, especially in cities. This one had a charm I have never experienced before. The many forms of lilacs, azaleas, rhododendrons and other types of plants were amazing. The view from the reservoir area blew me away. The walking trails were nice as well. The conservatory was beautiful. The smell in the air was amazing, and I mean from the plants, not the fried dough. If you are ever here and it is not the dead of winter, go to Highland Park.

The park has thousands of blooming shrubs/bushes and is a must see in the spring when the lilacs are in bloom. Great walking and the smell of lilacs is incredible. If you go during the Lilac Festival there is plenty to eat and drink and numerous bands throughout the week.

This park is spectacular all year long! The lilacs smell great in the spring, but there are many lovely pines and shrubs, trees and flowers that will really make you say "wow."
