Though the food was good, as you enter the venue there is a sign to wait to be seated yet no one there for 10 minutes so sat ourselves down.
Service a bit scattered as if the person was very new. She was unable to give a bill as the "system" was down. Could not even give us an estimate so had to give room number and go on faith.
The next day the waitress was also loss and overwhelmed even though there were only a dozen patrons.

The State Street Bar & Grille had an unexpected, varied & WONDERFUL menu! I had the grilled vegetable salad, which was excellent...as was the coffee!

Service was great, staff very friendly and helpful! The fried calamari was done perfectly. Good beer selection.

This restaurant has the potential to be much more than it is now. With the near absence of family restaurants in downtown Rochester there is an opportunity to draw in more customers. Instead it seems as though the restaurant management has decided that it has a captive audience and consequently does not feel it necessary to offer better service.

The restaurant is quite small given the number of rooms in the hotel. The patio seems an afterthought, with an eclectic mix of tables and chairs seemingly brought out of storage and it has all the ambiance of a cookout on the freeway. A few planters to block the driveway and a little effort to spruce the look of the place would do wonders.

There were no salad options on the menu, nor were there any children's items, though we were fortunate that both children happened to find something on the rather skimpy menu that they could eat.

The food, while generally well prepared, arrived late and not hot, while our waitress seemed overwhelmed by the quantity of quests, though why this should be a surprise is beyond me. The hotel was fully booked and there isn't anywhere else to go, except the Dinosaur BBQ about four blocks away.
