We are members of this museum. As it is a local, smaller one, with an interesting cross section of famous works, the big draw is the special exhibits, which can range from Russian icons to the current Matisse drawings exhibit with the additional strikingly beautiful pottery by his grandson. The outdoor area has charming sculptures, seating and a sidewalk imbedded telephone tour of the area known as the arts district in Rochester. Children enjoy the sculpture garden and that is free and open to the public.
The area also offers some nice restaurants and unique shopping opportunities such as Craft Company and The Parkleigh. Both restaurants and shopping are walkable from the museum.
