“Great Except Very limited hours.”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Only open Fridays 1-3 not easy to find using public transport from Rochester.

Some good displays and well briefed docent. Worth a visit, but make sure it is Friday!

“Nice historic site to visit, Good Glimps of the Past”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

My husband and I like historic sites, and this particular site gives you a good glimpse of the past along with some Rochester background history. For the cost, it is well worth the visit here!

perfect to just drop in to see; or to come when they have classes or special events...on East Avenue at the Brighton/Pittsford line; we always enjoy a visit here.

“A place to visit for tourists from ROC and out of town”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Our history in one house. Please check this site out and learn about Rochester's first family. I used to take school groups here as a walking trip and personally loved every minute. If you live in town, make the time to visit the house and grounds when tours are available. The Docents are all volunteers and do an absolute tremendous job. Fun for all ages.

“Built when George Washington was president”
Reviewed 21 September 2013 via mobile

This unassuming little red house offers an amazing glimpse into history. Built in 1792, the stove less, refrigerator less kitchen with no running water shows us just how resourceful and hardy our ancestors truly were. We wish we would have been able to see the 2nd floor rooms but enjoyed the main level and stroll through the gardens.
