The food isn't always up to par, thus "Yum w/ Caution". Ex: If you order fries, get them fresh or you will get refried fries aka a pile of greece, nasty! Or if you order a plate make sure you are specific about the amount of sauce and onions you want or they will pile it on like your the last customer of the day and you will have to dig for your food that's baried, also nasty! There prices have gone up alot so I don't visit often. Use these cautions, food will taste good.

This is my favorite place in Rochester. Used to get the double cheeseburger garbage plate, macaroni salad and home fries. I used to pour ketchup all over it, and criss cross cut it, and mix everything like a salad. Its delicious! Also miss their bread as well. If I ever had to go back to Rochester, this would be the first place I'd go because of the memories and the great food. Unfortunately its renamed Steve T's hots <Tahou's son>, which is baloney. Should have kept it Nick Tahou's but guess Steve T wants to be famous off his father. It would have been wiser to rename it Nick Tahou and son hots.

Our family moved from Rochester, NY several years ago, and for some reason, every time we've gone back to visit, we have not made the trip to get a "Garbage Plate". My husband and I used to go to to Nick T's after a Saturday night out and have many fond memories of two cheeseburger patties over a pile of hash browns and mac salad with hot sauce and onions poured all over it. Yum! We told our kids (ages 7 and 10) about it and they couldn't wait to go give it a try. So, when we were in NY this summer, we made the trip to Lyell Ave. to go to Steve T.'s. Apparently, this is Nick's son? There ended up being 4 adults and 4 kids and we had a great time. We all loved our food and especially loved eating such legendary eats as the "garbage plate". Between all of us, we tried the cheeseburger plate, the hot dog plate (with Zweigle's hot dogs, of course) and the italian sausage plate - not a complaint in the crowd! We will definitely be going back again next year! Be sure to bring cash, though - no debit or credit cards are accepted!

THE place for a plate. Best when your stumbling out of a bar.
