Was very busy on a Wednesday night, but service was still great. Food was above average, lots of fun

This is the best of the UK right here in Rochester! The staff are all British exchange students, the bar was actually shipped in from another pub in the UK! The menu offers traditional British dishes with some contempory pub grub (vegetarian selections as well) thrown in for good measure. 200 different bottled beers, ale and draft lines too. They also have Scotch and Bourbon from over there and over here.....80 plus I think. The walls are chock full with memorabilia and all in all it is just fabulous and cozy! Don't miss this one for sure!

Friendly service.. They have sharing platters.. Even better hot tea to suit me. ;) Great night with my group. My friend and I split for one platter and it wasn't bad.. Just wish there were actual grapes. The cheese were good. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating! I don't recall outdoor seating but I don't think so but I put average though it doesn't mean anything bad. :) Great pub, has WiFi, you have to ask for password if you want to use the Internet on your mobile or netbook/notebook. :)

We stopped in for what we hoped would be an English pub-style dinner and we were not disappointed. Inside, the Old Toad is charming, with comfy banquettes around many of the tables. Dark wood finishes, and an authentic English bar really set the atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the extensive beer selection, as well as the menu. The shepherd's pie was very good, but the yorkshire pudding prime rib dinner could have been better. (When you order prime rib and the server doesn't ask you how you want it cooked, you know you're in trouble!) I'd recommend The Old Toad, but don't expect to be wowed by the food.

This place is an English (British) pub. The folks who run the pub are student's on internships from England. The place is small but that didn't seem to be a problem. The drafts :-) are limited but are great selections that will surprise you. Food is good, sandwiches and fish and chips to name a few items. The British staff speak a little fast, so after a couple of beers, you may not know what they are calling you or care!
