“First visit, busy night, home run.”
Reviewed 5 December 2013 via mobile

Decided to stop in, with a buddy, for beer list exploration, and the burgers. We were surprised to be in midst of a "shoppers festival street event" with much more the usual crowd in area. Beer list very impressive ($6-$7 real pints) with 36 varied and well selected taps, nice atmosphere. We were seated immediately when we asked (from the bar) to be put on list for table. Service was immedIate and attentive, signature "wolf bites" appetizer was very good ( despite recurrent urge to call them wolf balls). Burgers served almost shockingly promptly, sides of fries were very hot and good. Beer list was impressive, and service was constant with frequent rechecks, including table visit x2 by mgmt team. Overheard at neighbor table " I see you have been waiting. Few minutes, I apologize, what can I do to help" and server to mgmt " can you visit table X, bother the ladies didn't seem to like their wine". Overall excellent, great service, nicely decorated, good number of staff on hand, prompt service. I had bacon cheese burger, with duck bacon upgrade, buddy had the Mac n cheese burger ( noted, no 'extra cheese' or other benefit) but rated overall burger very good. They are doing all the right things, right. I'll be back....

“Minor Bumps, Nothing Time Wont Fix”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

My girlfriend and I ventured out this past weekend on the search for Sunday brunch, only to realize it was Saturday lol! We quickly shifted gears and headed to Park Ave. where we found Blu Wolf (we live in the Southwedge and hadn't known this Bistro had popped up since our last visit to the Park Ave. area). The interior was very inviting and trendy for Rochester and honestly that's what drew us in.

We were greeted by a friendly host who opened the door for us and got us quickly seated in a booth as we requested. Our server Jeremy showed up at our table shortly after with water as well as to take our drink and appetizer order. I stuck with the water and my GF opted for soda, although the drink list looked good and we might have indulged had it been later in the day. We ordered our starter, the "fried cheese plate" which was delish. My only complaint with this dish is that the selling point for us was the fried mac&cheese and we only received one small piece of it which we had to split.

For our entrée we both ordered medium well burgers and fries. Our food took quite a while to come out which our server acknowledged and apologized for - no harm done there. However, our burgers were both significantly under cooked. We expected to see a little pink in our burgers however we were presented with two very rare burgers on blood saturated buns. An error on the kitchen no doubt and the owner quickly cleared it up.

He took our burgers back to be cooked further and redressed. He also offered us a free dessert due to the error and the time we waited for our entrée. We chose the fishbowl, which I highly suggest!!

All in all I think this place is great, we experienced some growing pains which is to be expected with a new restaurant but they were all quickly addressed and apologized for. The meal was good once it was done right and the service was superior. We will be back!

“amazing food and wonderful atmosphere”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

We have been to this charming new restaurant numerous times since its recent opening. It is a neighborhood sports bar with upscale atmosphere and creative interesting food. 36 beers on tap and many more in bottles. Fantastic wine selection as well.

The food is a new twist on pub food and there is healthy respect for duck bacon which is included in lots of dishes and can be added to practically anything. Make sure and try the wolf bites appetizer which are cheeseburger balls in phyllo dough -yum! Burgers are great, the grilled cheese and duck bacon is incredible and the fish bowl dessert is a slice of yummy heaven with ice cream, brownie, carmel, cookie crunch and yes bacon!! Worth every calorie.

Great food, friendly wait staff and fantastic atmosphere.
