My boyfriend and i can't say enough great things about this place. The rooms were extremely clean and the beds amazingly comfortable. The amenities in this place are unmatched. The Inn is right in the middle of town, so its convenient to all the shops and restaurants in Rosendale. Amy's homemade breakfast every morning was A+ and we loved this place so much we came back two weekends in a row. You will definitely want to do the same !!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn while visiting the area and absolutely loved both the Inn and the town of Rosendale. The Inn is charming and cozy with its hardwood floors and elegant moldings while offering modern amenities, ipod alarm clocks etc. Bed was cozy, bathroom small but adequate. The first floor is a lovely warren of rooms to explore, a sun room to snuggle up with a book, and a place to eat on their house-made breakfast (big thumbs up to the french toast!) Quirky, artsy Main Street (where the Inn is) is worth the trip alone with just a handful of excellent restaurants (one great vegan/veggie restaurant which was awesome, and we're carnivores), an out-of-this-world baker (The Alternative Baker) who will make an egg sandwich to knock your socks off, a cute antique store and an arthouse cinema. Perfect for the NYC-er looking to get away, yet still have a few of the creature comforts of home.

Everything about this charming inn was a pleasant surprise: the town, the easy, stylish modern amenities in such a historic building, the staff. We had a wonderful time and strongly recommend.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the 1850 Inn! Let me list all the things we particularly enjoyed:
- the elegant, tasteful design! Charming and never stuffy.
- the modern conveniences ( flat screens, free wifi, ac, and iPod docs)
- the Bar! Complete with reasonably priced drinks! ( and addictive bar nuts...)
-the view! On the river (creek). So Pretty and Peaceful!
- The Owners! Kind gracious hosts, who go out of there way to make you feel at home and see that your needs are met. Amy and Mike are topnotch people!
- the continental breakfasts were creative and tasty!
- town is super cute :) we give especially high marks to The Alternative Baker, the Big Cheese, and Twisted Foods! YUM!
- plus the rail trail is super fun :)
- We are definitely coming back and staying here again!

Room Tip: The creek view is worth waking up to

Stayed here for an art exhibit that I had in a gallery across the street and really enjoyed the experience. They've done a great job of restoring the historic building while still retaining the original flavor of the place. You can see all the hard work that's gone into it. Very comfortable rooms and terrific people. Amy and Mike are great. I'll be back again.

This Inn is a perfect combination of historic with contemporary and high end furnishing. The room was large and spotless and the Inn Keepers friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was creative and delicious. This is definitely not your standard Inn. I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Loved the platform bed in the downstairs room!

I've stayed at the Inn a couple of times now and love the mix of history and modern comforts. The rooms and hallways have great old pictures of the area showing the main street of Rosendale through the years. But the modern amenities are even better. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast was great! The innkeeper, Amy, was a gracious hostess and the owner, Mike was a great guy to talk to. Had a great time and will be back!

Room Tip: The River-view rooms are wonderful in the early AM
