that sounds like an outrageous claim, BUT we just had a truly excellent meal and experience - last Saturday 5/26/12, at this restaurant. Beautiful setting, friendly-enough staff and services, and absolutely DELICIOUS food - the "Saturday night special": braised short rib on risotta was "out-of-this-world" delicious, as was the steak frites,, and the salmon.... a definite MUST visit on Long Island!

Delicious food, prepared with care. Wine of the month, superb. Relaxed ambience. Attentive server. Went for lunch mid-week. Sat at table overlooking the pond. For lunch, a delicious spot, moderately priced. Been passing it by for years, thought it was too expensive for my budget. Although it was more than I usually pay for lunch, the few extra dollars were filled with value. I've been "talking up" this place every since. Enjoy!

The food is good (some soups, specials are awesome) but there is much more to this little place. If you are a regular you get to know the bartenders (Russ and Ray) who are friendly and keep you entertained! Speaking of entertainment . . . we like going on Tuesdays when they have, currently, a trio (bass, guitar and vocals). My husband and I like to sit at the bar which has it's own menu in addition to the regular one. They're very accommodating when you want to share an entree - during the week we like to eat lighter and they are happy to give you what you want.

had lunch here with a friend-special enough without being overpriced! good variety on menu, specials given with menu, enjoyed the pasta du jour(mussles and sausage) which the waiter warned me was spicy and I didn't find it so. loved the crepes suzette an ideal shared dish. love the location with views overlooking the pond.
Interestingly all male staff!!

We return to this restaurant for a number of reasons but mostly because the service and food are consistently good. French in concept, the menu has a number of staples (moules, steak), but also offers a nightly special along with seasonal entrees, tasty salads and traditional desserts. It can be a little pricey and occasionally noisy when packed with diners, but the quality of the food makes the visit worthwhile. If you are seated at the back of the restaurant, you will have a nice view of the pond and all its wildlife.
