Despite, being a non-smoking hotel, the first room in which we were placed smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. It was positively unbearable! The room we ended up with had only two pillows. Several attempts to get additional pillows were denied; supposedly, they were out of extra pillows. Seriously?!!! The bed was hard. Springs poked at us all night. We were just outside of the lobby and were awaken by the banging of dishes. The bed linens were old and dingy, as was the decor.

This hotel was very nice and convenient to Long Island locations. Rooms were clean, roomy and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient free parking and in room wireless service. Overall, very comfortable.

Booked for just an overnight stay. At first I was surprised at how expensive the room was and once seeing the room was totally convinced ($200 with taxes & service charges). The room I had was nothing like the room featured on the website. The beds are in desperate need of being replaced; the mattress slumped in the middle; bedding very low quality and there was no iPod dock. Bathroom was tiled as advertised, but ceiling was an old dropped panel tiled ceiling with rust and water stains. My room was on the first floor and was very noisy. Inadequate electrical outlets so extension cords and multiply plug adaptors were used. The music from the casino night was still blaring; woken up early in the morning by the staff setting up for breakfast. Breakfast was typical of a Days Inn or Comfort Suites. Disposable knives & forks; paper coffee cups. Room was equipped with a refrigerator and coffee maker.

Room Tip: If you must choose this hotel, get an upper floor room. Ground floor much too noisy.

Our review mirrors many of the previous entries. The room decor was very worn, lamps mismatched and AC adjusted by speed only not thermostat. Water in shower only warm even when the hotel almost empty. The door man held the door but watched me struggle with two bags up the long flight of stairs at the entry. The door man when we left did carry the bags down.

Check-in was okay but when we asked for a taxi to a dinner venue a few miles away they instead ordered a limo to take us and our bags (the only bag I had was my formal
dress clutch) to an incorrect location 20 miles away for almost triple what we were told the price should be. The limo driver was very accommodating and took us in style to our event for the taxi price.

Breakfast was adequate but we wondered about the cold, undercooked bacon and why the scrambled eggs were blue tinged. I was glad I always travel with my own oatmeal.

This hotel was convenient to the events we were attending but I would never stay there again.

Room Tip: My son was in the wedding party and was given a room on the first floor right off the lobby. The ne...

We recently stayed at the Roslyn Hotel for a family event. The lobby bar is great and I really enjoyed the staff. the gym was average with a few machines, similar to a Hampton Inn. The location of the hotel is wonderful, just a short walk to the heart of town with restaurants and shopping. The rooms were a disappointment. The water pressure was very poor and the beds were not comfortable at all...and I am still feeling the pains of those mattresses/pillows two days later.

At first sight, I liked The Roslyn Hotel and its location. But the loud, frightening altercation in the middle of the night on August 18, 2013, at 3 am, made me afraid to even venture out into the hall that night and the next morning. While the hotel cannot be responsible for actions of inebriated guests, it can certainly take immediate action to halt such an occurrence. Why did it take so long to summon the police? In addition, the hot water was not hot; it was tepid most of my stay. The final insult was the weed whacking at 8 am outside my open, unscreened window on Saturday morning. I will ask the management for compensation for one night of my sleep-deprived stay.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry your stay was not what you expected, and we take your comments very seriously.
You did speak to my Assistant General Manger the morning you were disturbed by a landscaper who was working at 8am. We have spoken to the landscaper as not to repeat this.
We did offer you an upgrade to a suite which you accepted, and we are happy we could do that for you.
Yes unfortunately that night a few wedding guests decided to get loud and obnoxious. The police were called immediately and responded at their own discretion. The police made the decision this was not at all a threatening situation but just guests who had too much to drink, and escorted the guests back to their rooms.

Again thank you for your review and I would like to apologize for the guests who made this disturbance, as this is a very rare occurrence at The Roslyn Hotel.

We booked accommodations here for our Out-of-Town guests attending a nearby Wedding Venue. Our large group of family & friends flew in from various parts of the U.S. including a large number of seniors. Since many did not have cars to travel the area, inquired about catering the Rehearsal Dinner the night before the weddding and the Brunch following the day after the wedding.
We were taking a chance as we didn't know anything about the Roslyn Hotel's catering abilities. BUT to our delight, the Event Planner, Laura & Matre D' Jose were "FABULOUS". Anything & everything we asked for, was provided. Their staff, both in the Ballroom & Kitchen were
extremely attententive, polite and accommodating. The Ballroom both days was set-up "Beautifully". My guests told us, that the Ballroom, food and overall presentation was better than numerous other weddings they had attended. Our guests "LOVED" the convenience of taking the elevator straight from their rooms down to the Ballroom as well as having the lovely decorated, clean restrooms right outside the ballroom. Our guests told us, it was a giant relief not to worry how they they would get from one place to another without a car or concern about going outside in any unpleasant weather conditions. The guest accommodations were clean and very quaint. We stayed stayed at the hotel too! Those of our guests that had extra time on their hands before or after the events, loved the idea that the Roslyn Village was a few steps away and offered a variety of shops, a lovely lake with benches to sit and relax. Our family and friends continue to call us to say they had a wonderful time at the Roslyn Hotel.
Thank you, Mr.& Mrs. C.
