“Bad experience”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2013

Fried green tomatos was 1 deep fired tomato in batter with a spicy sauce - asked the waitress about it and she said we could send it back so I thanked her and she grabbed it and stormed off.
Eggs and bacon on a muffin - asked for benedict sauce instead of cheddar - they said no problem - egg was rock hard and benedict sauce was a sweet emulsion which when I asked was told was a 'Yuzu' sauce - not on eggs thank you. (not sure it would have tasted good with anything).
Bacon was poor and incredibly salty.
My beet salad was in a 3 inch straight line down the middle of my plate with a chefs 'smear' of beet - maybe to somehow justify the $16 tag for this micro portion?
Only memorable dish were the truffle fries.
Bit of a shame as this looks like a cute place in one of my favorite places anywhere - maybe caught them on a bad day.

“A good meal in a challenging environment.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2013

I recently had the opportunity to have a delightful meal, well served by a most accommodating waitress at The Cuddy. My order of fried chicken (and a few waffles) was exactly as good as a cholesterol-challenged person would want it to be. You know the deal--you deprive yourself of a certain dish because you know that it's a "clogger." When you're able to convince yourself that you deserve it you don't want to be disappointed--and I wasn't!

The only negative is the noise level. You really have to either eat in silence like a monk that has taken a vow of silence, or prepare yourself to shout to be heard. It's not the greatest negative and I believe the quality of the meal, the attentive service and the high energy patrons that surround you is not a reason to avoid The Cuddy. And you will enjoy The Cuddy!

“Good and lively place serving trendy food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2013 via mobile

We visited this new restaurant a few weeks ago. We were surprised to find this neighborhood restaurant serving trendy good food.
The atmosphere was good and all 8 of us had a very good evening.
We have returned for another meal since then and were not disappointed

“Little bit less than a treat”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

We had lunch on Sunday at noon and sat outside in a corner table. Tight space, small table and large plates with meager portions made for a funny fit. The waffle ( 1 ) with a 1/4 cup of berries would not be a normal breakfast let alone brunch item. The grilled cheese sandwich was good size, with fries, and the burger , looking at other tables, was the way to go. On the bright side the waitress was wonderful, sights and sounds of Sag Harbor pleasant and touristy, and the service was paced correctly. Maybe they need more time or just gutsy reviews as the old spot Phao was treat for food and service.

“Fabulous halibut, margarita, and more!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2013

Just visited Cuddy for the first time the other night, a warm summer evening in Sag Harbor. The halibut with finely chopped lime on top, with a side of couscous and a lovely mustard seeded sauce on the side of the plate was So so delicious. By the way, I started this experience with a truly great margarita and then an order of the fired green tomatoes with a light tartar sauce. If I have one complaint, it was the full blast AC right under my chair but fortunately I brought a shawl!
I am spoiled with food restaurants in the Hamptons. I liked the vibe of this restaurant...busy but the service was great. People are friendly here and there's no fancy dress code. Outdoor seating if you can get it. Also they take reservations. Give it a go!
