“Return to a great hotel”

Our church group returned two years later and we enjoyed ourselves just like the first time. The buffet has a wide variety of delicious food. The hot tub and pool are always enjoyable. The room was clean and smoke free. We will definitely return!

Overall a nice little hotel. Kept up to date and renovated. Fun for the adults. Not exactly a great place to bring the kids...the hotel and staff are nice enough to them, but aside from the hotel pool there really isn't much else for the kids to do here or in the area.

We have been loyal patrons of the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino for many years. This spring (2014) the Seneca Casinos offered to transfer comp and free play offers to the Allegany location. Previously we thought that the Allegany location was too far and too difficult for travel and we didn't want to give up our free offers in order to try something new. With the invitation to use our offers at the Seneca Allegany, we took our first trip to Salamanca.

We LOVE the Seneca Allegany!!!

We arrived on Sunday, after a long and very scenic trip from the Finger Lakes Region. The casino hotel is a beautiful sight, From the highway, it seems to extend from a mountain.

There is a pretty waterfall as you enter the Seneca Allegany property. We were greeted by an employee who welcomed us and held the door as we entered.

The hotel front desk is only several feet from the front door. The bright red, the cooper fireplace and the lights are pretty. Everyone at the front desk greeted us warmly and the check in was smooth. We did wait for two rooms to be readied, but we were an early arrival.

We had two adjoining rooms, one with a handicapped layout. The rooms were on the 10th floor and the view was amazing. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Immediately, we wanted to compare the similarities with the Seneca Niagara, but soon we realized that this property is unique. It is a mountain retreat.

The hotel lobby check in had a copper fireplace. We also noticed the copper in the Seneca Cafe, again as a fireplace. We like the element of copper in architecture. There were also many examples of colored glass, colored lights, metal and stone sculpture, weaved baskets and more. Throughout the hotel and in areas of the casino, there are windows that overlook the view of the mountains. Allegany State Park is to the south of the resort, and might actually be adjacent to this property.

We were strangers to the casino layout. We quickly found our favorite China Shores games, and then went deeper into the casino to find Crystal Forest, Invaders from Planet Moolah II, and other WMS favorites. Near Planet Moolah II, we discovered new Konomi China Shore clones, that we loved! On Monday, we received additional free play based on earning 5 points during the day. I got a $75 free play, which was a huge surprise, and my husband received a $25 free play. The casino was very entertaining. First, I lost a lot. Then, I won it all back and more. Then, I lost some. The next day I lost another chunk and thought that I was done playing. I took a break, and then won some back. It was a thrill to win many good bonuses.

The Seneca Cafe had delicious food offerings. We had lunch and I enjoyed a hot turkey sandwich. The turkey was not deli meat, but instead was made of carved turkey breast. We had two buffet breakfasts at the Seneca Cafe, also delicious. The servers worked non-stop to keep everything fresh by refilling or changing the trays. The place was packed! The service was great.

We visited the exercise room facility, the pool and the outside deck and hot tub.

Everyone greeted us warmly and made us feel welcomed. We had a wonderful casino stay, and a comfortable sleep for two nights in this hotel.

This hotel and the casino are gems in the beautiful Allegany Mountains of NY.

Room Tip: Maybe you don't realize how beautiful a trip to the mountains is. Go here and see the mountains...

Greetings, SenoraSofia, and thank you giving us the opportunity to serve you. I'm personally delighted to hear your kind words shared with the TripAdvisor community. It's true, we are a AAA Four-Diamond mountain destination resort located just 11 miles from world-class, year-round outdoor activities in Ellicottville, and even closer still to the Allegany State Park.
Thank you again, SenoraSofia, and don't be a stranger. We have plenty of sights, entertainment, and dining yet to explore on your next visit!
Cheers,
M

The room was nice- however some of the furniture was a little banged up. But no big deal. We were traveling with 2 toddlers (4&2). On one occasion we decided to park in the garage. The elevator was filled with smoke. Our 2 year old has severe asthma. We got off the elevator at the casino floor. We were quite lost trying to get back to our room. We needed our daughters inhaler urgently at this point. The security guard detained us for 5 minutes. We finally passed and were told to carry both children... Fine, but we had hands full of pool toys and dinner and our daughter was nearly gagging on smoke. Finally at the lobby we were detained again even though we had a ' pass' and a clearly ill child. Another 10 minutes waiting for verification. As if we had let our small children gamble- treated like common criminals for being lost in the hotel. I was assured the property was family friendly but I don't know. We come to town monthly to visit family and I would pick a smaller chain hotel if you have kids.

Ladykate0601, thank you for your recent stay and feedback. I can certainly understand how a first-time guest might become disoriented in navigating around our property and I do appreciate you sharing your experience. Crossing the gaming floor can be cumbersome with small children as we are highly regulated and must account for all escorted minors in transit.
I do hope that you were able to locate our pool deck and to enjoy your family getaway. Ladykate0601, I understand that you do have choices and I hope that consider staying with us again, either with the family or for a couples' retreat.
Kindest regards,
M

With a couple of days to spare we found ourselves on the road to Salamanca Ny with no particular plan in mind at a lunch stop we checked the GPS for somewhere for an overnight stay and came up with the Seneca Allegany Casino resort and hotel with no reservation took a chance to get a room, arrived about 2.00pm and got a room no problem at a rate of $120 for the night. We ended up with a lovely room looking out into the Heart of the Allegany Mountains.
The room was bright and had a lovely view of the mountains the room was clean well appointed and really nice bathroom, heavy drapes to block out early morning light all that you expect a hotel room to be, really the only complaint was a charge of $2.00 for a bottle of water and a $15.00 charge to use the sauna which I would use but not as an extra.
The casino was not huge but an ample selection of slots and tables to cover anyones taste. For a night or two I would recommend this Casino resort

This was the second time my wife and I have stayed at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful. The casino is nice. We ate at the Seneca Cafe (24 hours 7 days a week). There is a lot on the menu. The serving sizes were large, the food was good and moderately priced. We both enjoyed our meals. If you are looking for something to do in the area, there is a huge antique mall in downtown Salamanca. There also is a town called Elllicottville around 10-15 minutes away on 219 north with a quaint main street. Lots of small shops and restaurants. If you are into nature, a short ride away is the Allegany State park. It is about a 45 minute round trip ride from the hotel to the Red House Lake section of the park. We didn't see any bears but did see a fox and a loon on the lake. The staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. We went in the middle of the week so all the hotel restaurants are not open. The front desk will tell you upon check-in what is open and the hours. All in all this is a nice place. We will definitely be back again.

Hi, Thomas M! Thank you for such a rave review--you covered a lot ground during your stay and even ventured out the Allegany State Park and we genuinely appreciate your feedback. It's always a surprise to our 1st time guests when they find out just how close we are to Ellicottville and it's great golf and skiing.
Thanks again, Thomas M, and we hope to serve you again soon!
