Checked Yelp reviews for a top notch pizza place in Saranac Lake because it had rained all day and we were camping in a tent.
Pizza was excellent, the whole place smelled wonderful. Loved the marinara sauce that we dipped the garlic knots in. The knots themselves were very bready and not the light doughy knots that we prefer. Service was very good and food came quickly, even with a full restaurant.
Would recommend.

a little long of a drive living in Lake Placid, but if you want a pizza with fresh italian bread dough and thick, be sure to order their Sardinian pizza. It is pricey but worth it......the other pasta meals are mostly like any others, and they do have darn good stromboli, but when you are used to thick and hearty crust, that is the one to order. Don't usualliy eat in unless out of towners want to have italian, as Lake Placid does not have a good italian restaurant, so I would go there for the ambiance in the back dining room, but the outside might scare you off.....try it anyway.

I was served last night by the owner Paolo himself. It appears he is hurting for cash as he added 3 "bacon" items and 3 sodas to the bill. A small pizza and chicken wings came to close to $50.00. A real shame that he thinks he can screw people like that! Will never go back there or to Nona Fina!!!

We were hungry after hiking and thought this place would do the trick...it did! Not one to disappoint, the strombolis were as usual - excellently prepared and heated, and we LOVE the little sesame seeds on the top! Sauce on the side gives just the right acid with the starch, and the meal compliments the ambiance of the old style restaurant. Yes, you can get more choices elsewhere but here you get a piece of the past along with your enjoyment in the present. Entrees and salads are simple but always great, and the nice aroma goes along with the happy belly!
