This part was absolutely beautiful and outstanding and very well kept. It looked a very safe place to walk ride or jog.

Definitely nature at its best!! Fresh air! Beautiful springs! Great place for a hike! (But wear good shoes! Not flip flops like I did!)

Our park has everything - clean open spaces in the heart of a vibrant city. Places to eat, swim, play and picnic. Who could ask for anything more!

The park is beautiful with great trails, golfing and more then a dozen different natural springs to see. It would have been easier to figure out if there was a bit more signage and especially helpful if the different springs all had some plaques to explain the properties or history of the spring itself. There were several that had larger informational signs but some that had none at all. I understand that there is a brochure in the adminstrative office in the park so I would suggest that. Despite that, the springs were really fun to go see, touch and taste. We did not get to the swimming pools. Definitely worth a full day to explore

I live only two miles from this park and visit it often. If you like trails, biking, cross-country skiing, history and outdoor activities and are visiting the area, you really should visit this park. One of my favorite walks is along the recently renovated Vale of Springs Trail that follows the edge of Geyser Creek and passes a fascinating tufa formation as well as The Spouter, a "geyser" that continuously shoots spring water into the air. This trail is best reached from the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) parking lot off Rt. 50 and finding the stairway built down to the creek below the pedestrian bridge leading to SPAC. From the lower end of this trail, you can follow other trails along the creek all the way to the East-West Road.

There are many beautiful spots in this park, but visitors should know that it is a developed urban park with heavy visitation on weekends and during the summer especially. There are numerous historic buildings, including the Gideon Putnam Resort and the Roosevelt Baths, golf courses, and the above mentioned SPAC. Because of the many visitors, there can be a litter problem at times, especially after concerts. But we are very fortunate to have this open space within the city.

There is a fee for automobiles on some park roads, but you can drive to parts of the park - and bike or walk to all of it - for free. There also is a separate part of the park off Crescent Ave. east of Rt. 9 with the Hemlock Trail for those who prefer a less developed setting.
