My son and I were trying to decide what to eat when we were hanging around Saratoga recently, and we remembered...The Doughboy!! We've been eating doughboys since Esperanto first appeared about 10 years ago (little known fact--I worked there before it was Esperantos, while it was an all night hot dog stand and I was putting myself through college!)
But this time we had lots of good options--veggie doughboys, samosas, black bean veggie chimichangas with chipotle, chicken and broccoli wraps--all of them inexpensive $3.75), really well-seasoned, and easy to walk with or take to the nearby park.
The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but the surprisingly interesting and inexpensive food is, especially in a town where the prices are out of control during the summer months. Esperanto will hold its prices and its tasty, yet low-key, reputation.
