Description: The PJ's BAR-B-QSA story begins in the mid-1960s, when Carolyn and PJ became high school sweethearts in their hometown near Buffalo, NY. They married, graduated together from college and became elementary school teachers. They began a small catering business out of their home and spent their summer vacations doing barbeques and county fairs. Eventually, they bought and operated a seasonal barbeque restaurant, while continuing to teach. They finally stopped teaching to devote their full attention to operating PJ's BAR-B-Q. Over the years, PJ, Carolyn, and their son Johnny added the country's regional barbeque favorites to their menu. They went on several barbeque road trips to make sure they were authentically representing these regional favorites. PJ's BAR-B-QSA now operates year-round, featuring barbeque from Coast to Coast. If you'd like to experience America's time-honored regional barbeque favorites without traveling across the country, you can take "A Taste Tour of American Barbeque" right here at PJ's BAR-B-QSA. Happy Trails!

“Not the Same since it became USA BBQ”

My family has spent many years loving P.J.'s BBQ. Since the takeover by USA .. The Chicken is Dry and tasteless, THAT wonderful smell is GONE. They no longer Cook the chicken outside on those Pits. Very Sad. Their chicken now tastes like what you may buy at Price Chopper.. It's BAD.. We gave it a shot since the takeover and every time I have said the same thing.. Not going back.. Not the Same.. It's ordinary chicken without the Flavor of it's original P.J.'s which was Amazing.. Their chicken is as DRY AS A BONE! They left out the two sides that come with the order as well! Back to the counter we went to tell them. It's just NOT GOOD all around. PJ's was excellent.. THIS USA place… Horrible. Again, we tried several times thinking it would improve.. It has not.. To take away those Cooking Pits was a MAJOR MISTAKE with this company!

As far as we are concerned you Can't get any better than BROOKS BBQ in Oneonta, NY. It's cooked on Pits the way it was meant to be Cooked and called BBQ.
When it comes to GREAT BBQ chicken, BROOKS IS NUMBER ONE. We are done with USA and will no longer eat there!

Here's your order:
Burnt Ends
Smoked Wings
Grab 2 of each sauce in the back and feast.

Oh, and bring me back some to Toronto.

“Good...compares to Southern Barbecue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

I lived in FL for 20+ years and the food here was similar. It is a little more expensive than I think it should be - lunch for two cost more than $25 and the portions were rather small. That being said, we enjoyed it. One problem was there was no fresh brewed ice tea! All good barbecue joints have fresh brewed ice tea!

“Brisket is my favorite”

Good Northeast BBQ. Ribs are kind of expensive. The sides are not as great as in the South. I like the different sauces. A good informal place to go without dressing up.

The food was great and would highly recommend the pulled pork at this spot! Try it when you're in the area
