Description: The PJ's BAR-B-QSA story begins in the mid-1960s, when Carolyn and PJ became high school sweethearts in their hometown near Buffalo, NY. They married, graduated together from college and became elementary school teachers. They began a small catering business out of their home and spent their summer vacations doing barbeques and county fairs. Eventually, they bought and operated a seasonal barbeque restaurant, while continuing to teach. They finally stopped teaching to devote their full attention to operating PJ's BAR-B-Q. Over the years, PJ, Carolyn, and their son Johnny added the country's regional barbeque favorites to their menu. They went on several barbeque road trips to make sure they were authentically representing these regional favorites. PJ's BAR-B-QSA now operates year-round, featuring barbeque from Coast to Coast. If you'd like to experience America's time-honored regional barbeque favorites without traveling across the country, you can take "A Taste Tour of American Barbeque" right here at PJ's BAR-B-QSA. Happy Trails!

This is not a sit down & have your order taken. A erson picks out a selection from a paper menu and gives said ordre to cashier, who will give a pickup number. If aperson doesn't have a menu to chose from, check PJ's website or ask for a menu while in line. I ordered the Texas Beef Bricket-Moist, with side orders of BBQ Beans & coleslaw. The beef arrivaled in a plastic wrap & not much BBQ taste, however it was moist. The beans did taste of BBQ, with the coleslaw having bit of a bite. Seating is in/outside.

It was BBQ Cruise-In night with sevderal classic cars from the 30's into the 70's. If not for the cars, there would have been much usual prking. I ended parking in a nearby grass field. I noticed 3 or 4 up coming events for cars & othder events.

I recommend a stop.

Been going to PJ's since the 80's. No way no how do i go again. Got some ribs to go on my way out of town as i usually do. Stopped in a service area to enjoy them but could hardly eat them. The ribs were burnt with little edible meat to eat. Being that it was a to go order I figured they put one over on me. Called them up, said someone would call me back, never happened.

Enjoyed the moist brisket and Pulled Pork. Good BBQ is hard to find and this place is excellent. Even the Texan in our group was pleased.
Great place for lunch if you are in the area for business. Our orders were ready in short amount of time. Seating indoors or outdoors on a nice day.

Being a fan of good BBQ, I have no problem recommending this place. Food was really, really good and 5 of us ate for about $100 with tons of left overs. Highly suggest you eat here when in Saratoga Springs NY.
