This was our last stop on our tour of New York State. What a lovely building, with a great pool (hope they get the heating working before next year) and a lovely porch at the front, where we sat and drank a glass of wine in the evenings. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had a lovely enclosed porch at the back. The breakfast was good. Saratoga has a lot of restaurants and bars. We went to look at the fall colour in the Adirondaks on our very last day, which was lovely.

I LOVE this B and B. I am in Saratoga a few times a year, sometimes for work and sometimes for pleasure. This is the only place I stay. The building is gorgeous, the rooms tastefully decorated, and the beds are so comfortable. I get such a great night's sleep here. The grounds are lovely and my favorite spot is the front porch with a cup of fresh coffee in the morning. Tom and Barbara strike exactly the right balance between pampering and giving you space. Can't wait to go back.

Who knew that my second visit would be better than our first stay at Union Gables, considering that our first stay there was a 10! We have made Saratoga Springs our Annual destination for our sisters get away and are thrilled to have found this B&B. We will never stay anywhere else. Warm and welcoming, Beautiful and comfortable, are only a few of the descriptive words. The rooms as well as the public areas are spotless, Made to order breakfast, wine, cookies, and the most gracious host and hostess. We can not wait to go back next fall, Maybe sooner!

Room Tip: All I can say is "You can"t pick a bad one" They are call beautiful and so comfortabl...

My first visit to this fine resort was perfect in every way. After living in Saratoga for 10 years, I now visit every year from Florida.
I don't know why I waited so long to enjoy true luxury and the most gracious hosts.
My yearly trip will never be in a regular hotel again. From the beautifully appointed rooms, with every amenity, to the amazing breakfast made to order, you can't replace it anywhere.
We had, fresh from the oven, cookies in the evening, coffee and tea all day and night and wine in early evening. They have thought of everything! The new pool is fabulous, and quaint "stove" style heaters in every room.

Room Tip: all rooms are bright and spacious in the main house, also the additional villas that surround the...

What a GREAT treat staying at Union Gables. Home from 1901 has been beautifully restored by owners. Rooms all different and spacious. If you love window seats pick "Tom".
Greeted by wine in the evening and cookies when we came back late. Breakfast a delight with lots of choices - DO NOT MISS THE SCONES!!!
Hosts were gracious and big help with where to wander in town.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Room Tip: Go on line - they do a very good job of describing each room accurately, and don't be afraid to...

The Union Gables is a gracious, sprawling Victorian mansion that also manages to be cozy and welcoming. Its amenities are impressive, including a beautiful outdoor pool, expansive porch with cushioned wicker furniture, free wine in the afternoons and a generous breakfast with a huge number of choices. The location is ideal, on a large corner lot just far enough from the action to be quiet and relaxing but an easy walk to the racetrack, Congress Park or the shops and restaurants on Broadway. And several of the rooms are pet friendly. If there is a bit of an 80's feel to some of the furnishings and decor, the accommodations are roomy, well equipped and cared for. I wish I had more time just to enjoy being there - it felt like a treasured visit to your rich grandmother's house. I've already recommended it to others and would gladly return.

Room Tip: I had the Bill room which had its own small upstairs porch, a lovely extra. Nearby rooms viewed fro...

We stayed at the Union Gables Inn during the August 2013 race meet at Saratoga. The inn is an old Victorian home on Union avenue within an easy walk of the Saratoga racecourse . It is also an easy walk in the other direction to Congress Park and the bustling scene in downtown Saratoga Springs. There is off-street parking. So, just park your car , put on some walking shoes and enjoy. We stayed in a third floor room. It was spacious and comfortable. All of the rooms I saw looked lovely. They have added a gorgeous swimming pool this year, which we did not try due to weather, but it is a nice touch. The grounds are gardens and lovely. The front wrap-around porch is a great place to have breakfast, which is expertly prepared and very tasty. A good way to start the day. Some folks like to do the breakfast at the track. We did it once. If you're stating at UNION GABLES , forget the breakfast at the track....it is crowded and not nearly as good as what you get at Union Gables.

Paul and Candace are delightful and take good care of you. They have good suggestions for dinner. We particularly enjoyed Mouzon house and its sister restaurant, one Caroline Street Bistro. Outstanding jazz at Caroline street bistro , and that whole area is hopping at night with bars and music, after which you can stroll back to the quiet of Union Gables and have a great night sleep before venturing out again to check out the horses.

I would avoid the wine bar for dinner. Food was ok at best, and service was terrible. Can't go wrong with Mouzon or Caroline Street though.
