“Scenic Area, Well-Maintained”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

This campsite is outside the town of Saugerties and 7 miles from Woodstock. The campsite is wooded and you feel like you are truly in the country. It is very clean and well-maintained by the owners who work hard and make sure you feel welcome and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and bright. You can relax at the campgrounds where they have a clean, heated pool and lots of things for children to do. There is also a lot to see and do in the area. We went antiquing in Saugerties and shopping in Woodstock. We found some really great swimming holes nearby which are not easy to find but if you are persistent in your search, you will find them. Mostly local people at "Big Deep" and "Little Deep. The campground is easy to locate and close to the interstate. The owners keep the rules for quiet after 10 p.m. which is most appreciated. This is a good place for families and also for couples. The only suggestion is to make sure you bring your own grill or some type of grill basket since the fire pits don't have grates like they do at other campsites.

We don't spend a lot of time at the campground (sleep and meals, mainly). This campground has everything you need, clean restrooms and showers, convenience store, clean campsites and accommodating hosts.

This was our first trip to this KOA location. We were there as a group of 15 people with some day visitors. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The tent site that our sons reserved was not going to be big enough for their tent (huge tent) and they were more than happy to let them switch to a more comfortable site. They owners stopped and chatted every time they saw you (very friendly) and the staff members always had a smile and a wave when they passed by. The pool was heated and very nicely kept. The kids enjoyed the game room. We have already reserved our spots for next year. We are so happy to find our new annual camping location.

Every year we head up to this camp ground on Memorial Day. We are a very large group and we sure do give them a run for their money. Just coordinating the campsites to having the slushie machine ready for the endless trips the kids make is a handful with us and Wayne and Gail always have a smile on their face when they see us coming. (Not really sure if they are laughing at something one of us did the night before) The Frisbee golf is a favorite and the new cabins with the bathrooms totally rock. Look forward to returning year after year.

First of all the park is a little place to stop for a day or two wouldn't recommend going longer unless your with a bunch of friends. Had nice little pool arcade and bike trails and a golf course. But very little staff and little to do. And a bouncy house that made you want to get a hose or broom to clean it because every time a kid jumped it created a little dirt storm. I don't if she is the owner or what but watch for Gail she is one the rudest people I ever met in my life. I took my kids to play some mini golf and she was unbelievably rude because she had to get up of her butt to get us a few golf clubs for us and my friends daughter went with us and she asked so politely for a purple club and Gail gave her the evil eye and said she gets what she gets and then she asked for purple ball and she did the same thing as before even though she had purple ball anyway. Then she got mad and insisted we don't come back to play golf again because we were apparently giving her trouble. Thanks Gail nice way to lose customers. Then on the way leaving she was arguing with more people , not surprising. Watch for her she don't like people. This a place to go if you have absolutely no where else to go

We are long time campers traveling with a 5th wheel. Have had good experiences with other KOA's. Owners not friendly...don't even wave unless you wave first. Understaffed with just the two of them. Office/store often closed while they do other things. Most sites not level. Ours was muddy in the only area that could be under the awning. Had to buy plastic to put under the rug. Sewer line had to run uphill and be propped with rocks and wood. Even though we were staying for two weeks they were not willing to let us change sites. (They do not give refunds..so leaving was not an option) Bahtrooms were clean, but old. When occupancy was low..(often) they kept them locked in our area. Most sites are small, and the firepits are often in strange locations on the sites. Equiptment in game room was often not turned on, and it is in shabby condition.

First, I have to say, we had visited more than a decade ago and felt good about coming back. The staff was very nice and helpful. We stayed with some daytime sight-seeing in mind, so it was convenient. The site was kept up nicely.

The big problems were some of the campers, loud and crowded into the same size campsites near to us. Very loud.

Numerous people noisily in and out, throughout the day and night. Adults were talking too loud---we could hardly hear the tv at night, ( we gave up sitting outside for quiet conversation) kids were just as loud, bikes and vehicles in and out constantly....and the barking dogs from morn till dark. We even heard several dog fights very close by. This went on whole weekend.
Sadly, this was not a nice camping experience. The site was naturally pretty but... some people need to be educated in camping etiquette. Besides stating rules, staff should routinely patrol in consideration for the majority of campers who assume they signed on for a peaceful outdoor weekend.

Room Tip: Next time I look for a campground I will ask straight out for a site in the "quiet or mature&q...
