Visiting our kids who live in Chappaqua and made reservations here. A small storefront restaurant.

They have very good service and a nice small reasonably priced menu. My only complaint is the noise level but that is tough in such a small restaurant.

Started with Sformatino di Melanzane , a slowly cooked eggplant souffle’, topped with burrata fondue & light tomato sauce, different and superb. Also had the Barbabietole salad, warm rainbow beets, frisée, fresh goat cheese, toasted almonds, with balsamic vinegar.

For mains, I had the Orata Marechiaro, sautéed filet of orata, cherry tomatoes, clams, mussels, & white wine. A fish that I never heard of and we travel pretty extensively. A very delightful light white fish that was magnificently prepared and presented. My wife ordered the Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Agnello, homemade pappardelle, braised lamb ragu & shaved pecorino cheese . Also a great dish with lots of flavors.

Great finish with a chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream, fig and a strawberry

I don't give 5 *'s freely and café Alaia was a true delight.

Great little restaurant. Food was terrific. We shared stuffed zucchini flowers as an appetizer. I had a lamb pasta dish and my husband had a seafood pasta dish. Both were excellent. We finished the meal with an incredible Zabaglione. The service was very attentive. I highly recommend.

The food is very good and, and the service is excellent. It’s a charming little restaurant. Unfortunately, the room is very loud. There is nothing to absorb sound, so people are practically shouting to be heard. It makes it difficult to relax and enjoy the fine food. Maybe next time, I’ll get takeout.

Cafe Alaia can accurately be characterized as a "neighborhood gem." Within weeks of opening, Cafe Alaia became a favorite destination for discerning Scarsdale and Eastchester foodies, many of whom come to dine night after night. While other restaurants in the Village have struggled to fill their seats, Cafe Alaia has had lines out the door, sometimes even on weeknights. Prices are quite moderate in light of the exceptional quality of Cafe Alaia's dishes.

Scarsdale Village is blessed with two great Italian restaurants -- Moscato, which is more formal, and Cafe Alaia, a casual restaurant with uncommonly delicious Italian food. Cafe Alaia's secret is an incredibly engaged, caring, culinary artist-owner-manager backed by his experienced kitchen staff.

For those who appreciate really wonderful Italian cooking, it's well worth any wait. Mr. Alaia runs a tight ship and reservations are honored to the best of his ability. But it is a small restaurant where folks like to linger and sometimes patience can be in order. To those earlier diners who continue chatting long after their last course has been served, please be considerate of the hungry patrons lined up for your seat. :-)

Replacing and redoing the space formerly inhabited by Petra, Alaia has upgraded the Scarsdale restaurant scene immeasurably. This small southern Italian restaurant complete with a small bar serves a menu with choices not usually found in the ubiquitous Italian-American eateries. Stuffed squash blossoms, octopus, crostoni & taglieri topped with an interesting array of choices are among the starters. Pastas are scrumptious; ravioli appear as specials. Most of the menu items contain seafood or meat but it is possible to have a vegetarian meal there. Vincenzo, the owner, has brought a welcome touch of his native Naples to Scarsdale.
