“Disabled Veterans Welcome!”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

Just ask about the name and you will warm up quickly. The place was down home country and Larry, the owner, was front and center to welcome you to the community. The food was excellent, however, if you are trying to watch your weight, fagedaboudit! His portions can serve two or three. My wife and I learned to share an order and still get stuffed. Very nice experience, and just do yourself a favor; don't order the pie!!! You will stumble out of the place!

“Warm atmosphere and wonderful food! So happy we stopped in!!”
Reviewed 20 October 2013

After a beautiful Sunday drive out through Schoharie County, we decided to stop at the Blue Star for a late lunch and were so delighted that we did! We were warmly greeted by one of the owners, Larry. Our server was full of smiles and tols us about the Sunday dinner specials all which sounded wonderful and were ridiculously fairly priced! We opted however for the cheeseburger deluxe a staple at a cafe and were we surprised when we received the giant hand-packed cooked to order burgers! The rolls were fresh and delicious and the meat thoroughly cooked and still very juicy! Handcut french fries are the icing on the cake! fter lunch, Larry came over and talked with us. What a great guy! All the food is homemade and the desserts are even made by his wife! We discussed making tomato sauce from scratch and how to really make great food. If you are in the Schoharie area, stop in. You will certainly leave with a smile on your face! They are now open until 7 pm for dinner too!!

“A Dream Come True!”
Reviewed 28 July 2012

Traveling from Syracuse to Hyde Park, it was lunchtime when we saw the sign for Blue Star Cafe. We had heard nothing about it, but it looked intriguing. Wow! We had a great meal! The owners, a couple, told us that if a person is going to eat, they should eat good, healthy food. The menu is a typical diner menu, but the bread is home-made, the sausage is made there, the eggs are local, and although we didn't have one, the cinnamon buns looked fantastic. The prices were so reasonable. It was the little place on a country road with unexpectedly great food, service, quality, and prices.
