I stayed at the Lakeview Inn for a week with my husband while we visited our son, daughter-in-law and brand new granddaughter. The innkeepers are very attentive and we were certainly able to relax in our "attached cottage." We found the cottage perfect for our basic needs: sleep, a bit of TV watching, showering, and the kitchenette worked well for breakfast each morning. Only issue we had was we stayed in cabin #1 and it's proximity to the highway causes some traffic noise - especially when large trucks go by - ask for cottage 3 or 4 when you reserve. Otherwise we certainly enjoyed our visit and will definately stay again when we revisit the area. The innkeepers are very attentive to the needs of guests.

We chose because it has more amenities than most of the other bed and breakfasts in the area. We really enjoyed having access to the canoe and kayak. Our room was clean, comfortable, and fairly roomy. Because it was in the front of the house, it was also fairly quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and served family-style. This is not the b & b to choose if you're looking for a rural location in the Adirondacks. The inn is just outside of town with townhouses across the street and the interstate behind it. The grounds of the b & b were not as big as I had pictured it based on the pictures of the website. Overall, we had a very good experience at the Lakeview Inn.

We stayed in the "garden apartment" with our CKCS.......nice to stretch out and watch the Tennis Channel after returning from activities. Full kitchen was great feature. B&B rooms also available but we opted for pet friendly apt. Near town and lake - lots of outdoor activities. Bob shuttled us and our kayaks to river drop off and then picked us up. Resident Cavaliers entertained us, especially Charlie in the van! Bob said he was getting guide's license so will offer adventures

My 17 year old son and I have stayed here twice in the last year. We have used it as a base of operations for forays into the Adirondack high peak region. It takes about an hour to get to either Heart Lake or Upper Works. We like to come back here after an exhausting day of climbing and have a hot shower and make or own dinner in the cottage. The place is very comfortable. We have not stayed in the B&B.

we statyed for a week at the end of june in one of the cottages. the two main complaints that we have are 1. size of the cottage and 2. distance from swimming part of schroon lake.

size: the room is described as a one br cottage with a sleeper sofa . owners state that the room can accomodate 4. the sleeper sofa is in the kitchen area and when open there is absolutely no room to walk around. even with the couch closed there no place to hang out comfortably on rainy days and many of our days were rainy. additionally the room was noisy, right off rte 9, we heard cars and fireworks.

lake issue: the lake is described as being across the street. the street you have to across rte 9, a major thoroughfare and much to our dismay is not a swimmable lake and there really is no place to hang out. no sandy beach etc. the swimmable part of the lake is a ride in the car, just a few minutes, but based on the website we expected to walk across the street. again misleading.

the positives are that the room was clean and clean towels were provided regularly. the owner (we only met one of the two) was nice when around, but the office was usually closed.

overall it was ok, but overpriced for what it is, especially given the e conomy and places competing for customers.

We visited in May. While the weather was a little chilly, we got a warm welcome from Patti and Bob. The cabin was warm and cosy for the cold evenings, while we could sit on our porch during the day enjoying the sunshine. There is a great gas BBQ to cook on, and the cabins have a more than adequate kitchen.
I'd recommend it for a quiet break off season, or an active holiday during the summer (or winter I believe, when the entire lake freezes over!). Watch out for the loveable KC (the King Charles spaniel - KC, get it??!!) who likes to "drive" around with anyone who will give him a ride, and Sonic the cat with more toes than whiskers.
All in all, a great location, fabulous hosts and excellent value for money. Schroon lake is centrally located in the Adirondacks and all the sights are within easy reach.

This was our first time at a B&B - we have always been "hotel-only" people but the Inn was better than we even expected. The rooms were beautiful - we stayed in the main house, but took a peek at the cabins and they were lovely too. VERY clean, everything looked at felt brand new. Breakfast was yummy. We are planning a return trip this summer!
