This place is excellent for a weekend getaway, and 100% ready to "move in" when you get there. Lots of room for parking on top or below with the top being the kitchen entry, bottom is stairs up to the deck and other entry. Take the driveway slow if you have a low to the ground car.
The owners have just about everything needed for a simple stay, including cook ware, silverware, plates, pots and pans, grill on porch(I bought a new grill brush for them since the other one got a bit melted), and the fridge is a good size with freezer. There is a stack of brochures and handouts, along with a binder with tons of local businesses and attractions to look at and chose from. Bedrooms are just right, big beds and windows all have a fan provided for good ventilation. The 6 of us had plenty of room per couple.
Upstairs has a nice common area with 2 spare beds, tv, and overlook to downstairs tv/fireplace area. Love all the room upstairs and down. Side porch is perfect to relax on and take in the birds and quietness.
We knew going in that there is no WiFi or cell service, but there is a phone there. Unfortunately, we lost power due to a storm on Saturday night from 5-10:30 ish and the phone was out as well during that time. So if there is a chance of that happening during your stay, make sure to bring USB or battery powered fans because the upstairs gets sweltering without the air flow. I think that was the only negative about our stay, and it was very minor and not the owners fault at all.
I would go back and stay there again in a second, and would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a big space that is accommodating and quiet, and lots of feedback and followup from the owners before the stay.
Our stay was 8/3-8/5/18 Dave A is the reviewer on this. Happy Camper.
We had three couples staying here. Enough room for everyone!!!! it is a good quiet getaway for anyone. We sat on large front porch for our meals, plenty of room... enjoyed listening to the brook that ran close bye.We were half hour away to North Creek where we rode the Railroad Bikes. We plan to go back again!!!!!
First of all, DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! When I rented I was falsely accused of trespassing on other peoples property, firing fire arms that I dont even own and the owners had the audacity to accuse me of flooding their basement with water. Because their is no way of proving any of these accusations to be false with out going to court, the con-artists that are the owners found a loop hole to take my security deposit. BE WARNED FOR CON-ARTISTS OUT TO GET YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT THREW THIS SITE!!! It happened to me. Because I would of spent more on a lawyer and on court costs I didn't bother on trying even though I had a case.
When you rent from anybody on this site, make sure you take lots of photos of before and after with the news paper date on it, so when these types of people try to pull one over on you like they did me, you are prepared.
This is a really great house on a beautiful property with a lovely stream running through it. It is perfectly located as it is very secluded but just a few minutes from the restaurants, shops, and bars at the town of Schroon Lake. After sleeping in very comfortable beds drifting off to sleep to the sound of the stream we woke up and sat on the large nicely furnished balcony watching hummingbirds and drinking our coffee. A beautiful living room with a nice large TV made for relaxing evenings with our two twenty-something sons. Hiking trails are not far. We really loved the place and hope to use it again sometime.

We booked this place for the July 4 weekend. The owner Lynn was very helpful with her responses and suggestions to get us quickly settled...
On arrival we were happy to see the log house exactly the way we envisioned it... private yet near to a road... a beautiful brook flowing through it.... plenty of place for parking... rustic ... perfect for small groups...
It is just a small drive to the quaint town of schroon and schroon sits between lake george village & ausable chasm... So it was perfect for us to do day trips in either direction..
There is no cellular reception but that actually was a positive thing.... a landline exists though..
All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend this place!! Thanks Lynn..
