This former 'motor court' is family-owned and operated with owners on-site. They're courteous, friendly, and caring. Granted, this is not a Marriott, but it serves its purpose. Our room was clean (most important for us) and provided all our needs which were a place to sleep, freshen up from visiting family and friends, and relax a bit. Although we didn't use room service, the owner did ask if we would need or want it - and without our prodding. The Scotia is close to Scotia center, as well as Schenectady, and its proximity to the various interstates is excellent. Would I use the Scotia Motel again? Without hesitation. I'd much rather help and support the local businesses especially one as caring and clean as the Scotia Motel. Sincerely, Room 114.

I read the two reviews of this little old "Motor Court" and booked a night's stay as it was very close to where my meeting was going to be held. I have to agree, the sheets where clean and the place was quiet. But there was no hot water in the shower, and it is a crampled little room. I couldn't even find a stopper for the bathroom sink for shaving in the AM...
I was doing a "bach" night so I was adaquate for me, but I would not stay here with family. Might be worth a little ride for a more modern place. I can't honestly say this was an average motel by today's standards....I have stayed in worst, but I guess for $61 you get what you pay for

Room Tip: Avoid Room 114...no hot water for a shower

Thank you for your response. We are an older building and do the best we can with the little space we have. My family has owned and operated this business since 1983 and we certainly understand that our building is not the most modern facility today. With that being said, we take pride in our clean and affordable rooms and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience with the lack of hot water in your room. Thank you for staying at our establishment and we would love to accommodate you again in the near future!

Stayed here in a "regular" room, $67 total, August 2012. An inexpensive, family-run establishment. Family lives on-site and are available 24/7; the innkeeper (lady) was very courteous. A "Motor Court" from the old days, not updated, but adequate when all you need is a bed and a shower. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was cramped but servicable, with a small stand-up shower, and the towels were good linen-service type. Furnishings, carpet, paint, etc. were very old. Cable TV worked fine. Air conditioning was centrally controlled but nice & cool, the way I like it.The place was very quiet, absolutely no problems at all, and the neighborhood is quite safe. If you're a trucker, they have a nice big lot at the shopping plaza next door, in view, which they own. Those looking for the cushy comforts would not be satisfied, but otherwise, no problem.

Room Tip: At the time of my stay, 2-bed rooms are not something they have. One bed per room.

Just recently my wife and I took a trip to Scotia to visit some family and friends, unfortunately, and much to our surprise there was not enough room in anyone's house for us to stay. We arrived at the Scotia Motel relatively late however, we were greeted and treated very nicely by the owners of the motel and enjoyed the nights we spent in the small village. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful stay i recommend Scotia Motel.
