“Great food and an interesting venue”
Reviewed 5 August 2009

There isn't a whole lot of food options near the American Hotel where I stayed. That said, this restaurant and the one located in the hotel can satisfy almost any traveler. Pizza is an interesting medium for food, one that many restaurants try to do too much to. Gino Ottomanelli's Restaurant, however, avoids this by offering a wide selection of food, all very appetizing. After eating delivery and school cafeteria pizza for a few years, it was very nice to eat pizza that feels like it was made right. I ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza, and it was far better than anything offered by any fast food chains. The other options were also very good, evidenced by my family's silence after the food arrived. The restaurant building itself is very quirky, and definitely interesting enough to entertain a hungry family waiting for the food. The service was excellent, and I would heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through or nearby Sharon Springs.

“A gem in central New York”
Reviewed 25 June 2009

We discovered this charming cafe/pizzeria a few years ago and go out of our way to visit as often as we can. On the surface is the pizza, eat in or take out. Very think crust, excellent homemade sauce and lovely toppings. But step past the counter and pizza oven and there is the dining room, full of real memories and knick-knacks (not contrived in the least). This is a family run business. Dad greets and charms, mom and aunt cook in the kitchen, daughter waits tables and her boyfriend makes the pies. The best thing is that they make you feel like family. The food is cooked with history and love. The service is quick but not rushed, and there's always a smile and conversation. Delicious, reasonably priced, and a charming atmosphere - what more could you want.
