Description: 18 Bay is a Chef owned and operated restaurant. We serve a four course Italian inspired Chefs menu that is a direct reflection of the local markets. Dinner begins with four different antipasti, followed by a handmade pasta, a choice of entree and dessert. The menu changes every week. We make handcrafted cocktails using organic syrups, serve local wine including two on tap, as well as international wines from small producers. We offer a vegetarian menu and accommodate for any allergies or aversions. We look forward to sharing with you our interpretation of the best of our terroir.

It's not on the water, and it's not as vibrant as some other Shelter Island spots, but the food makes this place a destination in itself.
Everyone we asked on the island told us this was the best and they were right. You will spend over $150 for two people. You will have to wait patiently. You will not eat large portions. But you will be amazed by your meal. Enjoy!

What an amazing meal! The four antipasti were so delicious and so creative. Pasta a dream as was meat course. I can't recommend more highly. These two chefs are a godsend in an otherwise barren food landscape.

Not worth going...we waited for 45 minutes for the bread, terrible service! The fixed menu was left a lot to be desired. We had reservations and still had to wait 45 minutes for table, not acceptable. The waitress had a bad attitude and was not caring. We will not ever go back!

This was our first time eating at 18 Bay, all the outdoor seating was taken so we had to sit inside which I did not mind since it was a very windy evening. We went on a Monday it was a prix fixe menu and we happy with that, which made it easy for us since we got to try everything. The food was delicious full of flavor and leaving us wanting more. The service was excellent everyone was on point. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

What a surprise to find such high quality on Shelter Island. I've had a home here for 25 years and have eaten in every food establishment. This is certainly the best and most interesting and unusual meal I've had anywhere. We didn't know it was a tasting menu. We began with the appetizers: four small tastes. One was a baked oyster with a delicious crust; one a duck breast
item [I don't know how to describe it]; one a chopped white fish over locally grown strawberries;
the last a small green salad with an excellent dressing. We had a pasta dish as the second
course. Penne with a chicken sausage sauce. The choice of the main course was either a
roasted pork chop or grilled halibut. Both were served at our table and both pronounced
"outstanding." We don't usually eat dessert but the offer was too good to miss, a strawberry
and cream arrangement inside a flaky phyllo-like pastry. Wow, what a finish!
This was a pricey meal for Shelter Island [$65 per person] but well worth it. the setting
is bright and the linens and dishes top notch. A real winner all around.
