“Perfect afternoon walk”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

This trail was exactly as described here. It was peaceful walking alongside a babbling creek. The perfect coda to a day of shopping.

“Very cold visit but lovely trail”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

Stopped by with a friend with our camera to capture some snow and ice along the creek. Lovely scenes but we will have to come back in the spring (if it ever comes) for a better appreciation of this lovely trail.

“Serenity and History”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

I almost always take visitors on this most pleasant of walks-it's on a flat old railroad bed next to a babbling steam amidst the ruins of old mills and dams (on hot summer days just cool your feet in the stream and relax). It's not a long walk..so take your time and drink in this trip into the past.

“Great place for hiking”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

Spent an hour hiking the Charlie Major Nature Trail this past weekend while visiting Skaneateles. The trail is very well maintained and has a great waterfall and scenic stream that runs along the trail. Felt very safe.

“A hidden gem!!”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

This is a peaceful place!!! With a creek, park, picnic tables, bridges and a little history too.
If you stop by the Mottville post office / Mottville Emporium / Rehab consignment for a map of the trail so you know what each place on the trail was.
