This place was nothing like I expected from the other reviews. The hosts (especially Louise) were not that friendly and the house was nothing special. There were no amenities......I had to ask for something cold to drink . Other places we stayed at had coffee, tea, cold drink available at all times. They had nothing here except for a decanter of sherry in the hallway to be shared by all guests. The worst was the breakfast. We all had to eat at the same time...9:00 a.m. Dale actually had us guessing where the different juices were from.....like who cares? Eventually, we got the breakfast consisting of "coddled" eggs an English muffin and a couple pieces of bacon. Wow! I waited an hour for that? The eggs were too runny. Another guest and myself said we couldn't eat them like that and they cooked them longer. The whole production took over an hour.. Because of their ridiculously long breakfast we missed the house tour at MacKenzie-Childs in Aurora, NY and there wasn't another tour for 2 hours. So we didn't get to go on that tour which, by the way, was one of the main reasons for visiting. I was very disappointed and angry. And, this was my birthday. I had told Louise that on the phone and thought she would at least wish me a happy birthday. She just ignored it. A really friendly person!!!!!!!! And we paid $197 for a mediocre room.
