“What we expected”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2013 via mobile

It's what we expected. Pretty decor, decent food, summer help staff (meaning-not very attentive without asking, but still nice personalities), and the typical 20 something upper east crowd. Wouldn't come on a Fri or Sat as its for renters and dance on table crowd, but the backyard is so pretty, it's still worth it just to relax and enjoy a bite and drink.

“Lovely restaurant, great food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2013

Because the Southampton Social Club is a club in the summertime, catering to a trendy late night crowd, I dismissed the ads I saw that said they served dinner, figuring it was going to be the sort of appetizer-style food you'd want to soak up your martinis at midnight. Then I saw a few reviews -- great reviews -- and decided to try it. So glad we did! The crabcakes -- often mentioned, worth mentioning again -- were fabulous, as was my sole menieure. My husband's salad and burger were wonderful. On top of it all, the service was terrific and the decor is beautiful. We dined early so it was uncrowded, which was fine by us. Loved the place and look forward to our next visit!

“A jewel of a restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2013

I was invited to a private affair at The Southampton Social Club last year, and I was awed by the incredible food that was served. After that night I began going to The Social Club for dinner, and took many friends there as well. The food is superb, surely the best cuisine in Southampton. Not only is the food delicious, the staff are well trained and offer exceptional service. The ambiance is fantastic, with an outdoor lounge area and a hip, chic bar. They are reopening soon - if you haven't been, go and see what the best kept secret in Southampton dining is all about!

“A Very Good Version of "The Usual"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2013

Delicious food -- had a superior crab cake, good beet salad with terrific fried goat cheese balls (NOT goat balls), husband liked the short ribs a lot, my tuna was well cooked in a too sweet sauce. Portions were large and the off-season prix fixe was a great deal. No pastry chef but a more than adequate Juniors cheesecake and ice cream in-between 2 chocolate chip cookies. The place is very pretty and nicer than the claim of casual restaurant. Our service was pleasant and accomodating. But... we went on a very off night and were the only people there so can't vouch for the noise level or anything else if the place is busy. This is a very good version of what we Hampton's residents call "the usual" (good modern cuisine with the same ingredients which are typically fresh).
